  1. Our appointment at Walgreens is at 9:45 tomorrow and just got a call that the “Rapid Antigen Test (BinaxNOW)” that get results in 1 hour are no longer available.  They switch us to the “Rapid Diagnostic Test (ID NOW)” that takes 24 hours to get results.  They had a click to check the lab and turn around times and it show 12 hours on some days and 72 hours on other days.  Lucky that we have a Plan B that has proctored test that we can take on the way down.  We are driving and two day drive time and I wish I could found out before we leave.

  2. Funny story.  On my last cruise with Carnival (2020) we were at the evening show and I order my normal Scotch straight up.  I handed the guy my sail pass card and left to get drinks.  When he returned with my drink the lights were dim and the show had started so I put the card back in my wallet without checking it.

The next day was port day so we scan our sail pass card and left the ship for the day at port.  Returning to the ship we were standing in line and I looked down at my sail pass card and said Judy ?????.  Realizing I had someone else’s card I told the person at the station where you get back onto the ship that I had the wrong card and belong to someone else.  They said it was impossible to scan off the ship with the wrong card but I did.  They called security and I spent the next two hours trying to convince them that I use the wrong card to leave the ship and belong on this ship.  Finally the girl that had my card turned it into customer service while is was sitting in security hold.  They had to admit that I did in fact scan off the ship with a wrong card and was females card and I’m a male. Security made the excuses that the pictures must of have been close and ask if Judy had full beard like I do.  Security told me I was a smart (you not what).

  3. Thanks everyone for the comments.  I purchased a three leg stool that I going to carry with me incase there is a line.  I just hate to have very nice little 120 pound girl push the 220 pound 6'2" up that ramp.  We are going to sign up for the 12:00 boarding time so we should be ok.

  4. This is my situation leaving from Galveston.  I have had hip and back surgery and ether went well.  I can make the walk up to the check in area then I need to sit for few minutes and then I can make the walk to the ship.  What I can’t do is stand in lines for extended time.   I would normally get Faster to the Fun and by pass the long lines but it not available for my cruise.  Since I do have handicap sticker I can request assistance but I hate to do that if it can be avoided it.

My question is there a time that the lines are shorter?

  5. I feel if you don't want to abide by the mask rules delay you trip till there are not longer required.

When they start sing and dancing in the MDR we will just put on our mask since we are no longer eating.

I'm concerned about children under the age of 12. at tables with strangers.  Recently there has been cases of COVID-D in children under 12.  If I had kids under 12 and under I won't cruise till it was safe for my children.

  6. We can get our third shot about 4 days before the cruise.  I have ask the question if recent covid shot could it cause a false positive.  So far I have only got "I Don't Think So".  We decided to wait till after the cruise.  That from people that should know.

We've had several price drops on our upcoming cruises lately - all after final payment.  Had one yesterday. Just fill out the CCL price protection form and submit.  I usually get a response w/in an hour or so.  Any price difference has been applied to the reservation as OBC.

Can you provide a link to the " CCL price protection form" PLEASE!!!!

  8. I have been on several Caravel cruises and had bottomless Bubbles and was refused service at the specialty coffee bar.  Is this a change that we can have the fancy coffees free as part of the Bottomless Bubbles?  We are on the Dream on 23 Oct.
    BottomlessBubble Excludes
    • Beverages promoted and sold in souvenir glasses.
    • Non-Alcoholic beverages other than soda and juices listed above.
    • Bottled water.
    • Specialty coffee.
    • Beverages offered at gangway while debarking.

Per the Carnival website, it is still possible to cruise without being vaccinated.

    https://www.carnival.com/Legal/covid-19-legal-notices/covid-19-guest-protocols?icid=advisory_cruisehealth_072821

Seems things are changing almost daily.  Your link now says:

Unvaccinated Guests — Exemptions to Vaccination Standards (Updated August 22, 2021)

Requirements for cruise ships to enter ports outside the U.S. continue to evolve and Carnival Cruise Line must operate in full compliance with these regulations. Most recently, the Government of The Bahamas has announced that effective September 3, cruise lines calling on any Bahamian port must be able to confirm that all guests 12 and older are fully vaccinated, with exemptions only for those with a medical condition that prohibit vaccination. Other destinations in the Caribbean normally included in our itineraries have implemented similar limitations. Given the number of itineraries that include multiple destinations throughout the Caribbean and, in particular, in The Bahamas, and the need for us from time to time to adjust itineraries due to medical, technical or weather emergencies, we will now operate all sailings under this requirement.

Consequently, effective with embarkations on or after August 28 from all U.S. Atlantic and Gulf home ports, vaccine exemptions will be limited to children under 12, and those teenagers and adults with a medical condition that does not allow them to be vaccinated.

I wouldn’t book this stateroom. If you have to ask, it’s clear you already know about the potential disturbances.

Also, one person’s experiences will not dictate that your experiences will be the same.

How and heck would  I know if I haven't been on that ship nor have I ever been in the rooms aft location?  That is the reason I asked!

  11. I have a hard time standing in line for long periods due to back problems.  I do have my handicap card so I could claim that I need assistance in boarding and get a wheelchair.  I don't have a problem boarding unless I have stood for long periods.  So I purchase FTF a couple of times and worked to get to the head of the line.  I just hate to have the poor guy or girl pushing a 200-pound man up those ramps on the ship unless I couldn't physically do it   I carry a backpack now that converts into a seat so I always have a place to sit.
