For EZCruise...Try the word
CRUISE
;)
-
If someone knowingly "sneaks" on while pregnant....then cruise line is covered. "You didn't have our permission - so it's your problem not ours." This wouldn't even come up unless there was a lawsuit, I am sure. While onboard, any medical professional would do what they could to assist the mother if a problem surfaced.
I think the more interesting question is a person who is less than the maximum number of weeks gestation, has all the proper permission slips, and then sadly has a problem onboard....whose responsibility is it then? Can the expectant mother say, "You said it was okay, and look at the trouble I am in now?" I think that is the point of the doctor's note - a medical professional has given the "all clear" so the cruise line is pretty safe....and NO ONE wants to catch that hot potato after that magic number of weeks. (is it 24? 25?)
Interestingly - as far as I know, they don't require a note from a heart patient's cardiologist. Who takes on that liability?

Good Points! Excellent post!
I am just thinking with Early Saver, you book 'early' ( Im booked on Magic November 2011--and am booking Spirit April 2012) so you book sometimes a year or so out, who knows what can happen in that time --and the deposit is "NonRefundable"... so *if someone bookes and then becomes preg... then what? they cant go>? what if they find out 'too late' ---soooo.....
just brings up a lot of questions... what if the cruise falls at 25-1/2 weeks... ???
-
Our TA always asks us if anyone in our group is pregnant.......only after we had one in our group that was and wasn't aware of the rule and was detained until her doctor faxed her a note........and she was over 25 weeks.....now it's a running joke with our group:D
did they let her on?
did they ask her at check in...
(what if she had said, "NO Im not Pregnant, Im just Fat!!"--lol)
-
Thanks for the quick clarification because you were about to get a ***** phone call.;)
double lol @ Wrona!!
-
actually, you could be a test case....since you will have all your papers, letters and doctor's OK....why don't you just check in as normal....DO NOT present your doctor's note...and see if they ask if you are pregnant?
You are no trying to hide anything...you have your OK's...you are not over 24 weeks...so you really don't have to even tell them, do you?
Again, you are not trying to hide anything....but it would be interesting as to how they handle you at check in. Will they ask? Will they think you are just heavy? Or will they just not notice?
Ohhhh!!! Yes, please be our Control Group! You have all your papers , so it's just a matter of seeing what They do.

Here's the policy from Carnival's site
I was pregnant when we cruised on the Crown Princess and they required a note from my OB/GYN be faxed to them. They also required that it be done in advance so bringing it with me to the terminal was not an option.
But how did they *know* -- you told them in advance. What if someone just " did not say anything"?
Or those people who "don't know they are"
< remember the gal who had that( full term) baby on Paridese a while back >
-
Again, for those "know" me, you *know* I'm not...
Double LOL.
Just bored Kate at night and wondering...
-
Right!!! If you look obviiously pregnant, you cant board without the note.
My point.I've seen people who Look PG but are not... So do they need a note saying the are not? Just things that make you go "hmmmmm"
-
First let me say.. NOT ME!
Just wondering tho... You "can't sail if you are more than 25 weeks."
Right? How do they know? What if it's not obvious? Some people "look" PG and are not actually... Some people don't look like they are, but indeed are.
So, how would the cruiseline know?
Randomness, I know, but I was wondering what your experiences is?

We just booked the Magic for 11-14-11. Wonder who the cruise director will be?????
Doug
Doug.
Welcome aboard.
John Hinted that HE will be the CD on his blog (yesterdays)
makes sense.
It was in the one where he was joking about the 'Breeze' homeport.

Magic is calling your name huh?? It's a siren song if you live in Texas.
It sure is a siren song.
I dont know how some of you have held out as long as you have...

The vendors are NOT as agressive as (a lot of) other ports. Its expected in the 'poorer' areas that the locals will be trying to sell you something...its tourism that is being brought to their towns and that means lots of (mostly) American and Canadian dollars.
I do think Progreso is more like a 'real' mexico town...thats one thing I like, no Carlos/Charlies, no SeniorFrogs, not so 'Americainized' I dont want tourist trap restaurants, I want 'real' Mexican food.
(I know it probably wont be long till Progreso goes the way of the rest of the popular ports...how many of us remember when you went to Cozumel and it was less 'touristy'?---I liked it that way)

Hdawson I admire your patience and attitude and Clackey for your sense of humor...if the rest of the world could see the glass as half full instead of empty we would probably have a better world. I agree with you 100%.
To Agrip76: I'm sorry that Progreso wasn't for you and I hope your next port of call is more to your liking. Sincerely.
I must say that my wife and I have been to Progreso 4 times (3 on cruises) and have never been solicted by prostitutes nor have we felt unsafe at ANY time. From the moment we first went there we were awed and inspired by the people. Their humility, genuine happiness and overall contentment impressed us so, we are seriously contemplating retirement in either Progreso or Merida. We feel that Progreso is a diamond....you just gotta see past the coal and dirt and there it is in the soul and spirit of the people. If only I could be so content....(sigh)
KingFish is Wise!
(Hi Tim, tell the lovely Freda Hi too!--miss you guys)
-
I'll take Progreso over downtown Belize City, anyday.
I agree 100%!!!
How did I miss the prostitutes?:confused:Right?!
LMAO!!
-
I didn't realize that room is being used again. I thought it was permanently closed off since that horrible incident that happened there.
I guess you are the lucky first passenger to use it again. Good Luck.
your going to get in trouble for bringing that up...
;)

Thanks!! I'm booking today then.
5 bucks U.S.

I am looking foward to TeaTime when we sail on Ecstacy in 26 days.

The 'card' is only good in the Champagne bar...and as stated only good during the hours it is open...afternoons and evenings...(they have hors deorves{sp?} too)...Be sure to try the "RoyalCaribbean Champagne Cocktail" it is sparkling wine with a rose flavored syrup in it...OMG it is sooo yummy...the rose syrup is made esp for RoyalCaribbean and not available to the genreal public...(Ive looked) Thats about all I drink when onboard in the afternoon and evenings!...Its not a vacation till I have on ein my hand! ;)
(OK...that is not an actual picture of a "RoyalCaribbean Cocktail" ..but aint it pretty?):D
-
On the Splendour the 'card' was as follows: you pay for 6 champagne cocktails and you get a punch card good for 7...I blew thru 2 of them on a 4 night!
However in July on the Serenade they did not offer it...so it depends on the ship.:(
I'll be on the Majesty in a couple weeks, so I'll report back~!:p ;)
