  1. Hi there,

We are going on our 33rd cruise on Carnival Mardi Gras at the end of May.

On the Carnival website it states we can only get 15 alcoholic drinks per day 😞 on the cheers packages.    Does anyone know if we were to pay as you go without a drink package if we would be able to each drink more than 15 alcoholic drinks per day?

Has anyone ever exceeded 15 alcoholic beverages on the drink package?  What was the experience?

    Thanks again!

  2. Was wondering if anyone who recently was on Celebrity Edge who visited the Apple store on board knew what version of the IPad they were selling onboard?

I've got a boatload of non-refundable on-board credit that I need to use and was thinking of buying an IPad as I need a new one.   I've heard that Celebrity usually supplies Apple devices that are quite old, some dating back 4 years.

Does anyone know for sure who has been on Edge recently?

    Thanks!

  3. Captain Kate again this morning came over the intercom to let us know that another vaccinated passenger has tested positive for Covid19.  Same protocol as before, their family members and contract traced passengers are all in quarantine.  She also mentioned that the covid patient they flew home last night is doing well at home.

We've begun to see an increase in mask use by passengers and crew.  We've seen no change in planned activities or changes to our intenery which is to be expected.

Will continue to keep everyone updated if there are any new developments.

If you haven't been following the news you are very behind-the Edge is only one of many cruise lines that have had this problem.  Check the boards as well as the news, it won't matter anyway, the cruise lines will probably be shut down prior to then anyway because of folks who can't or won't follow simple rules and let those who do enjoy.

No the cruise lines won't be shut down for low ratio outlying covid 19 incidents.  This is the new world we live in.

In the past they have always removed the positive travel party at the first port and transported them home by air ambulance.  If that is the case the ambulance is most likely for infection control vs symptoms.

Spot on.  That's what just happened.  Transported home on behalf of Royal Carriben.  Full expenses paid.  Love ❤️ Celebrity and Royal.

Are you guys wearing the tracelets on this ship?

No.  But I think the app has geo tracking capabilities?   Curious

I’d be willing to bet there’s plenty of data from the app.

    That's what I am thinking

Have the affected people been evacuated from the ship?

  7. Wanted to share this with my friends on cruise critic first before the news media get a hold of this and spin it..

Despite a 95% vaccinated cruise ship, Captain Kate just announced that a vaccinated guest onboard Celebrity Edge tested positive for COVID 19 after reporting cold like symptoms to the medical center.  Thankfully, the rest of the family travelling  along with the passengers identified via contact tracing have all tested negative and have been put into isolation.  The infected guest has been quarantined in the medical center.

Will keep peeps informed if the situation changes..

You're a clever one 🙂 So you're going on record that the Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas has permanently changed the MTD room to open at 5:30?  I saw your earlier post mentioning the Allure, but given that all of the resources I've found say the Jewel MTD room opens at 6:00 and that's the earliest reservation possible in the Cruise Planner, I'm shocked and excited about this news and was hoping a recent cruiser could confirm.  While previous posts in this thread danced around different ships and dining times I was hoping to nail down an answer to my specific Jewel question.

I'm not clever at all. I just can read..

As Sellwingri who got off of Jewel 2 weeks ago reported in post #19,  Jewel's MTD starts at 5:30pm.

Is 6:30 PM a good time for MTD on Brilliance for our 7 day and 14 day cruise to make the 8:00 PM show and the late night entertainment and gameshows? Thanks

I think 5:15 is too early especially if you want to go to the Diamond Happy Hour

Yes, usually 1.5 hours before a show is ample time for dinner and to get to your show.

Just let your waiter know that you have a show at 8 and they will accommodate you.

You've got my attention 😂 I'm actually on the opposite side of this thread in every way possible, sailing the Jewel in June, doing MTD and was disappointed that it doesn't open until 6:00.  We have a 6 and 8 year old and eat on the early side when we're on vacation.  You said the first seating for the MDR moved to 5:30, any chance this also means MTD opened up at 5:30?

Please scroll up and/or search.  This question has been discussed and answered ad nauseam...

Yes it opens at 5:30PM however it can open as early as 5:15PM.

You’re correct.  It started at 5:30 on my Jewel Cruise 2 weeks ago and in November and on my Adventure Cruise in January.  Start time must have changed in the past year.

Actually (said in my best bítch voice), you're all wrong. My Time dining (at least on Allure) starts at 5:15pm according to this compass from just over a month ago.

Oh and Jewel and Adventure are hardly considered "larger ships".  More like "Dumpy old ships".

  12. Wifey and I were on this sailing too and agree with your comments regarding the rude older folks. To be even more specific, they were all from NYNY and had a very twangy, annoying NY accent. Super loud and obnoxious.

One night in the MDR the couple one table over from us came over and told us they were going to be talking to the staff about these obnoxious people.

Also regarding the whistling noise in the cabins. We had the same issue. The problem was the poor French craftmanship of the sliding door seals. After calling down to maintenance they came up and applied a piece of thick tape to reinforce the gap between the glass and the frame.

And regarding the craftmanship, STX France can't build a ship as well as STX Finland (Allure and Oasis). It really showed in the fit and finish.
