  1. Without going in to the long saga with Flights By Celebrity, I also will not ever use them again. And yes, it is British Airways. Our flight home is Venice to Heathrow, then Heathrow to Baltimore.  Had no trouble booking seats 9 months ago on the first leg of the flight. When it came to the second leg, BA website showed all the Economy Class seats I could book. I booked Premium Economy.Could not access the PE class. And this was a month after final payment…

Flights by Celebrity kept saying it was a technical issue on BA’s part. To add to the confusion, Celebrity actually booked everything through Finn Air, a partner, but we’re flying American to Italy and BA home.

My travel agent and I both spent hours on the phone. I was finally able to book seats and have a PDF of the chat with BA. We shall see.

It was my understanding that Connie was dry docked with a major face-lift during down time at July 2021 dry dock for the post-COVID restart. Recent YouTube videos appear to back that up.

From my reading, I don’t think the cabins have been redone. One of the biggest complaints is shower curtains instead of a door. And very small older TV’s.

Dry dock hole in the schedule is 3 weeks.   The Summit and Millie were at least 6 week to do the full Revolution.

As I said, I have no idea what will happen. But not sure why the Captain and Cruise Director would say what they did. It honestly doesn’t matter to me. People say that the ship needs an overhaul because it’s dated. Well, so am I. And we plan to have a good time if it’s updated or not.

  4. We are sailing Constellation on April 23, 2024. I have heard everything from a complete overhaul of rooms to nothing being done. I do know that this summer, Capt. Matt and Sue Denning said the rooms would be redone. And a poster posted an email indicating the same.

Another poster then said Celebrity emailed him that nothing would be done. I asked him to post the email but he never did. So who really knows. Guess we’ll find out when we board. It definitely is scheduled for dry dock though.

not everyone who cruises can afford the suite life or Aqua class. Glad to know people like class systems in 2023.

Just another opinion here. We booked Aqua Class on Celebrity once and my husband was not a fan. To me, it was not worth the steep increase in price. Also did not use the Spa. But most people rave about Aqua. We do verandah cabins and Concierge on the M class ships since they are slightly bigger cabins. We are not foodies.

Sailed on her 2x in AQ class pre Covid.. Ca coastal and carib. She was really tired !

.Happy for OP.. nice upgrade in getting suite amenities. but sounds  like the rest of the family next door won't be in Retreat...making it awkward. .We are not familiar with these cabins...

Issue with Infinity for us  was not just tired decor,  mildew in shower etc , but we had  A/C that died regularly in our cabin and hallway....never really fixed.  Cabins down the hall had  toilet back up. issues....fans blowing to dry carpet.

Seems like the planned upgrades may not reach the systemic issues..hoping  they will.!

Wishing Connie would get updated too! Loved her in her Prime!

Constellation getting upgraded after the March 2024 TA.

  7. I had 2 excursions booked for Italy in April but the 45% off was too great to ignore. So I cancelled and rebooked for a total of 5 excursions. I was honestly surprised at how easy it was and my cancellations and new bookings were all correct. Got emails about everything. Some were booked with OBC, others with a credit card.

  8. With regards to the train, both are enjoyable and the scenery is gorgeous. But I’m going to suggest another option for Skagway. We have used the Frontier Tours small busses for Skagway and they were great. Last month we had only 13 people on the bus. The nice thing about taking the bus is the numerous stops you make. You can get out and take pictures. We stopped along the road for about 10 minutes to watch 2 bears eat dandelions. And the drivers are a wealth of knowledge.

Not sure I understand.  Why would a partial refurbishment before your cruise be a negative thing to you?

For me, it would be a big positive, as long as the work was not ongoing in such a way to interfere with the trip. But I’m sure the cruise lines have this partial refurbishment well planned out. It appears there are no sailings for 2+ weeks prior to ours.

  10. We board the Millennium on June 16 in a concierge cabin. While I didn’t book this because of the lunch (I like the slightly larger rooms on M class), I find myself annoyed at this. I’m glad you posted this because I will plan on a larger breakfast on the train from Anchorage to Seward. Couple this with the fact that several classic desserts are no longer available, along with some other changes, irritates me, maybe more than it should. I’m sure we have a great time, but, where do these cuts stop?

    Excellent choice.

We were just on them last week!

I chartered it for my wife & I only as her anniversary present.

You can't get much more local than this family!

Capt. Joardan and his wife are great. Just booked our second trip with them. Very personalized excursion.
