  1. It depends on what you want. If you cruise to do things on the ship then the Adventure is much bigger and better. The promenade is a great place to hang out at the bars and the parades, much better than anything Carnival has to offer. Now as everyone else has mentioned Guy's burgers and the Mexican buffet are better than anything RCI has. If you want to save money then Carnival is your way to go. Either way you will have a good time.

  2. For those that think you have to be a big drinker you are wrong. If you have 3 drinks by the pool all day, 2 with dinner and 3 more in the evening. You have more than broke even and you are never drunk. My wife and I did just this and had a great cruise. We never had to worry about how much we were spending or getting a surprise at the end of the cruise.

  3. My DW and I both had the $55 package and it was sooo worth it. We never had an issue with getting our moneys worth. Most nights we were in bed by 11pm. All we did was have 3-4 by the pool (6hrs) 1 with dinner (2hrs) and 2-3 after dinner (3hrs). That is less than 1 drink an hour, not even enough to get you legally drunk (.08). We had a blast and never had to worry about what we were spending on drinks and never got drunk (darn). The first day we probably had more by the pool, but that is just extra over and above the cost of the package. Remember if you drink extra 1 day say $80 worth you can drink less on another day and still break even.

We were also on a cruise that had mostly time on the boat. We were in St Maartin till 5PM and San Juan till 2PM and the other port day was Labadee which you can use the package on.

    Well worth it IMO!!!!

  4. We have been on 3 carnival cruises and 7 RCL and find that the MDR are very similar, however the buffets are very different. Carnivals buffet has lots more choices. Each area has something different, and they have a sand which bar plus guy's burgers. RCL is the same at each station all the way around the buffet, but they do have an afternoon snack with nachos (which are great)

  5. We just got of the AOS and my DW and I both had the premium package. It was sooo worth it. I don't think we got drunk once and still broke even. If you just have 3 or 4 drinks by the pool in 5-6 hours then 1 with dinner and 2 or 3 more after dinner you break even and you never even come close to getting drunk and really enjoy your cruise not having to worry about how much you spend or if you should get a drink or what to drink

  6. We have done this twice. It was lots of fun both times. Lots of sting rays swimming all around you. They are very nice and friendly. We have some great pictures also. The second time they gave us a CD of the pictures free because it was our second time. You will not regret going on this excursion.

  7. Maybe some of you don't know but years back you were aloud to bring all the liquor you wanted on board and you could even buy a bottle on board and drink it. This no liquor is a recent thing and not very well policed, because the cruise lines really don't care. The more you drink the more likely you are to spend money. They just do this to look like they care about how drunk people get on a cruise, because of the negative publicity it has gotten in recent years.
