For those that think you have to be a big drinker you are wrong. If you have 3 drinks by the pool all day, 2 with dinner and 3 more in the evening. You have more than broke even and you are never drunk. My wife and I did just this and had a great cruise. We never had to worry about how much we were spending or getting a surprise at the end of the cruise.

thanks Bob I am linked with my wife, but I have more cruises than my wife. When e-mails are sent to both of us it says diamond, but when I go to the site it says emerald. I guess I will have to call Crown & Anchor
-
When RCCL send me E-mails I show up as diamond, but when I go to the site I show up as emerald. When I look at past cruises the one we took in April shows up but the points have not changed since before April. Has anyone else had this problem?

Just bought one in St Maarten and got a very good deal. Bought one in St Thomas years ago and got a good deal their too. The key is to wait till the end of the day. They are more willing to deal then.

Very true no sale here either. Keep checking but price is not moving at all.

Temp will probable be the same, but I would much rather do the Eastern. I think the ports are much better.

just looked at FOS for April 2015 and could book 2 cabins 1 inside the other a Promenade room for $80 a day. On another site it is over $1000 more. I think there are some mistakes right now grab them will you can.

We really prefer the southern ports, but for that difference in price would have to really consider looking at the other cruise. I would look for Eastern.

My DW and I both had the $55 package and it was sooo worth it. We never had an issue with getting our moneys worth. Most nights we were in bed by 11pm. All we did was have 3-4 by the pool (6hrs) 1 with dinner (2hrs) and 2-3 after dinner (3hrs). That is less than 1 drink an hour, not even enough to get you legally drunk (.08). We had a blast and never had to worry about what we were spending on drinks and never got drunk (darn). The first day we probably had more by the pool, but that is just extra over and above the cost of the package. Remember if you drink extra 1 day say $80 worth you can drink less on another day and still break even.
We were also on a cruise that had mostly time on the boat. We were in St Maartin till 5PM and San Juan till 2PM and the other port day was Labadee which you can use the package on.
Well worth it IMO!!!!

We have been on 3 carnival cruises and 7 RCL and find that the MDR are very similar, however the buffets are very different. Carnivals buffet has lots more choices. Each area has something different, and they have a sand which bar plus guy's burgers. RCL is the same at each station all the way around the buffet, but they do have an afternoon snack with nachos (which are great)

We just got of the AOS and my DW and I both had the premium package. It was sooo worth it. I don't think we got drunk once and still broke even. If you just have 3 or 4 drinks by the pool in 5-6 hours then 1 with dinner and 2 or 3 more after dinner you break even and you never even come close to getting drunk and really enjoy your cruise not having to worry about how much you spend or if you should get a drink or what to drink

Does anyone know why Adventure is late loading?

As of my last trip, live music was still being played on the pool deck.
Thank you

I have not been on RCCL in awhile. We have been going on Carnival because of price, but thank God we found a cruise on the AOS that fit into our time and price. Could someone please let me know if they still have live bands on deck during sea days. Carnival quit doing this and it was horrible.

We have done this twice. It was lots of fun both times. Lots of sting rays swimming all around you. They are very nice and friendly. We have some great pictures also. The second time they gave us a CD of the pictures free because it was our second time. You will not regret going on this excursion.

I am sailing on her in 81 days and I am counting. do they still have a Caribbean band by the pool?
-
It does really depend on your ship mates. We have been on some cruises if you went to bed before 2AM you were going to miss a lot and others were almost everyone was in bed by 1AM. Go and make your own fun if you have to.

Maybe some of you don't know but years back you were aloud to bring all the liquor you wanted on board and you could even buy a bottle on board and drink it. This no liquor is a recent thing and not very well policed, because the cruise lines really don't care. The more you drink the more likely you are to spend money. They just do this to look like they care about how drunk people get on a cruise, because of the negative publicity it has gotten in recent years.

Anselmo Boles is a great entertainer he was the piano guy for us 2 years in a row back in 03 and 04 but haven't seen him since. He would stay late if you asked him to. We had such a good time the one night the crew was asking us about it the next day.

Our first cruise was also on dolphin back in thearly 90's. It is still by far the best food and service we have ever had on our 10 cruises. It is what also got us hooked on cruising

Extra Costs?

It depends on what you want. If you cruise to do things on the ship then the Adventure is much bigger and better. The promenade is a great place to hang out at the bars and the parades, much better than anything Carnival has to offer. Now as everyone else has mentioned Guy's burgers and the Mexican buffet are better than anything RCI has. If you want to save money then Carnival is your way to go. Either way you will have a good time.
