  1. there is already a long thread on this. Why start another one?

NCL has always had a drink package that is twice what other lines charge: NOT, maybe not as good but not always twice: that is an exaggeration.

how would you know what they have always had?: According to your post back when you cruised NCL in the spring it was your first cruise on NCL.

There have actually be two, this is the third.

  2. This is exactly what is wrong today with mainstream cruising today. The company makes a rule or contract requirement and guests want to find a way around it. The cruise line needs to enforce the rules. Clearly not allowed under: " jeans that are overly faded with holes or tears"

It is not respectful to other guests and the cruise line not to follow the rules.

I can never understand how someone else's outfit can impact a person's enjoyment or experience at dinner. If the visual is that disruptive you can literally just look somewhere else. People allow others to steal their joy way to easily.

  3. Does your comment answer the question I asked? Was it helpful in any way? Does it at all contribute to the partially humorous aspect of the original post? "No" to all counts.

Have a think about your comments and how they contribute to making Cruise Critic an unfriendly community.

The comment does answer your question, no you did not need to get that drunk as soda is included...

Also, no once can really answer your other question ("Where did I get the idea that soda wasn't part of the deal?") as we can only speculate your thought process.

  4. If you make a reasonable offer then my husband and i can discuss if this is a value we are willing to accept. So long as its reasonable it should be ok, kwim?

I guess the question is are trying to sell them at cost (which would be $150) or make a profit?

  5. Of course all our issues were brought up on board! We were in the Haven and spoke to the Butler and Concierge about every single issue (except minor ones). Also spoke to Guest Services, Shore Excursions and left message for HD.

Also, no yellow tickets...that was the problem!

Were the issues adequately addressed while on board?

  6. Big difference..... check in is when you process all your paperwork and receive your stateroom key etc similiar to checking in to a hotel...... boarding is when you physically get on the ship.

But don't you do that form of checking in (i.e. process paperwork, receive key) as you are boarding the ship? On my last cruise (10th cruise, but first time on NCL) we boarded the ship right after getting our key.

  7. Starting February 2017, NCL expanded the Priority Boarding to Latitudes members. Now, Haven/Suites board first. Followed by Casino Guests in NYC (only). Followed by Ambassador, Platinum Plus, and Platinum guests. Then general boarding starts with Boarding Group 1. So, a large number of guests will board before general boarding starts,,,, and before general boarders can make the dash to get vibe passes.

This may be a silly question, but, is there a difference between priority boarding and priority check in?

  8. When I see a passenger being inconsiderate or obnoxious behavior, I always wonder if they act this way at home. If seen passenger in the casino, put their cigarettes out on the carpet or flick their ashes on the floor – I wonder do they do this in their own home. I’ve heard people slamming cabin doors – I wonder do they slam their doors at home. I’ve seen people drop food on the floor and just leave it there – I wonder do they do this intheir own home. I see plates of food out in the hallway – I wonder do they do this at home in hopes someone else will pick it up after them.

Being considerate is very easy, just act how you would like others to act toward you. Think if you had a walker or wheelchair how would you get down a hallway full of plates (remember about Karma). Think if you like to sleep in and your neighbor kept slamming their door waking you up. Think how you would feel if you slipped on some food someone left on the floor. I know some think it is their vacation and they will do as they please, but I didn’t realize that being on vacation meant throwing manners and being considerate toward others out the window. Now, how hard it is to call room service and have them pick up your dishes or to close your cabin door quietly or put your cigarette out in the ashtry right next to you or let someone know that you spilled some food, so they can pick it up. Really, how hard is it to be considerate to others???? Remember what they say about Karma!

Great advice! If I was doing something that upset/annoyed someone else, I would prefer they politely address it with me directly as opposed to having security approach me.

  9. In a perfect world, absolutely yes. I used to believe that we all want the same things and that communication could resolve anything. Now I am old and have experienced how wrong that can be.

From my experience, bringing in other people and not being direct can frequently escalate a fairly simple situation and still not lead to a positive outcome.

  10. Thank you ... yea i will try not to stress out about it. I just like to be prepared in any situation (ocd anyone [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]) ... I am sure it will be fine

That is not what OCD means.....anyhoo, if you are having an issue with a specific person or group the simplest solution is to directly address that person/group (with few exceptions, such as fearing for your safety). I would only bring in outside support (i.e., cruise staff) if that didnt work. Simple communication can go a long way.

  11. NCL has become VERY strict on electrical devices. Are used to bring my mini blender and the last time I attempted it was confiscated. Before eight you should consider a battery operated fan. The batteries might be pricey but that's your way to ensure that you can have the fan you need.

May I ask why you brought a blender with you?
