  1. Hubby and I love staying at Hampton Inns. We enjoy the hotel chain, but the main draw is the free nights we can accumulate through the Hilton Honors points. We will go out of our way to stay at a Hampton and sometimes pay a higher rate due to our loyalty.

I would like to see Carnival offer something similar, where you earn free nights for previous sailing. Say ...for every ten nights you get a free night. Or for 30 nights you get a free three day cruise etc. I could see us booking a cruise just to earn that next free night 🙂

We have only cruised carnival, but we love the brand, bought the stock (for the shareholder benefit) etc. But we would love to see a loyalty reward associated with the VIFP program.

  2. We get up at the hotel, eat breakfast and make our way to the port. I wear a bathing suit under my shorts and shirt and he usually wears his  bathing suit trunks and a t shirt.

we get on board, explore a bit, then grab some food, usually a burger from Guy's. then hang by the pool and people watch until the room is ready. Go drop carry on bags and usually chill by the pool or walk around until muster.

  3. We just got our room assignment for our March sailing on the Carnival Liberty. It is room 1202. It is the foremost room on the port side on the Rivera deck and has an different floor plan than the rest. I cannot find any reviews on this cabin on here or You tube etc.

Can anyone shed any light on this cabin? Reviews, pros, cons etc?

    Thanks!

  4. We booked an interior cabin with obstructed view aboard the Carnival Liberty for March 14. We decided to let Carnival choose the room since it was the cheapest option and we frankly do not care what cabin we are in.

However, when I printed the luggage tags it says Cabin TBD (as expected). This makes me nervous the luggage may not get to the room.

Does Carnival assign the room at some point prior to the sailing and I can re-print the luggage tags? Or is it assigned on the day of embarkation?

    Thanks 🙂

  5. Hi Everyone. We’re going on our first cruise in August aboard Carnival Fantasy and have booked the Elite Champagne Catamaran Sail and Snorkel in Cozumel.

I have searched for reviews on here of this shore excursion and havnt found anything. Has anyone done this shore excursion and can offer a review or advice.

    Thanks in advance. 😊

  7. I have no objection at all to co-ed spa areas. Many ships are designed with extensive co-ed spaces. Others (mostly older designs) offer both co-ed and gender-specific. Some only offer gender-specific areas. If enjoying the co-ed experience is important to you, I'm sorry you didn't consider that before booking, because many will make a ship decision in part based on the spa design. Since at least some using the men's only steam and spa (for whatever reason) made that decision deliberately, I'm suggesting that you honor that decision and not try to change gender-specific to co-ed. :)

You make excellent points. I would not want to co opt someone else’s vacation or relaxation time. Thank you 😊

  9. We think it's safe. We always run from the RCI port into town (about 2 miles) and then a further two miles past town, along a nice bike/walking path. Two miles back to town and stop for lunch and some looking around. Then walk back to the ship.

    Just stay along the water.

Gosh, that sounds fantastic! Thank you for the advice.

  10. The main problem is not being able to use the spa facilities in the nude. The steam room is especially suited to be used without clothing. In Germany the spa culture is completely different. There are no taboos against coed nudity. You go to a spa in Germany and you will see man and women use the steam room completely nude. In fact they have set protocols. In the steam room you 1st hose down the bench, then you sit completely nude - men & women combined.

Here in the U. S. It's completely the opposite. So much so that even in a single sex steam room I've seen many, many men completely dressed in their workout clothes go into a steam room-even with a cell phone & headphones!

Ok Im young, but I just assumed all steam rooms were in the nude lol. But like our German friends, I dont see the problem with co ed nudity. But thank you for explaining. :)

  11. The plan for Celebrity Edge gym/spa has been revealed. Spa area (deck 14) has no gender-specific space, only co-ed. :( There are no locker or bathroom facilities in the gym area located above the spa. The men's and women's changing areas - fairly small, interior spaces - in the spa have no detail in the design drawings. Have to wait for our first review for more specifics.

    Hi twodjs :)

I am still trying to understand the objection to having Co ed steam / sauna areas. Many couples like to relax in these areas together. Our LGBT friends have that luxury, what is wrong with the hetero couples enjoying the same? I am truly trying to understand why this is an issue. I would hate to go steam alone instead of enjoying the company of my significant other.

    Thanks for the input.

  12. Just looked at the deck plan - surprised to see there was no steam or sauna for men & women together. Not usually the case. Could be a big problem, or maybe not a problem at all - men usually in towels or nothing. You be the judge..

Isn’t that how they do it in most of the world? I wouldnt care. It makes no difference to me what other people do. But it seems like some would be uncomfortable with a girl in there.
