Just download the App and look and the menus. No one takes pics of the menus anymore because it’s all there.

Unfortunately there really isn’t any to predict. There are some areas of the world that are prone to rough seas. I don’t think New York is one them. If you feel worried about it, bring it along for peace of mind so you enjoy your cruise and have a great time.

Thank you for your comments. My family is going on Ovation on July 17. We have a Junior Suite booked and plan to eat our dinners at Coastal Kitchen. Hopefully we enjoy it.
I am sorry to hear about the service issue you experienced. I have never been on a ship this big so I could see how there could be some issues.
I have heard the internet is pretty bad in Alaska. But honesty though, 1to 2 MPs isn’t too bad for Alaska at all. I’ve heard a lot worse. Definitely a little slow for streaming but you should be able to surf and do Facebook and email and other stuff without any problems at that speed. Maybe you are over estimating it. Some other people reported much, much worse.
But again thanks for your comments

I’m not Diamond yet. I’m still Emerald. But I don’t drink. Saves me a lot of money. And there is plenty of food all, over the ship so I don’t see a problem for me at all. But Royal will have to do something to keep people happy if they get too crowded in the future

it should be allowed to mention that site since cruise critic without the app is not the same and is not active as before lol
btw folks the other website is not that active as cruse critic so you are not missing much either
Yes cruise critic is more active but I like the other site as well. Just curious why we can’t mention it. Competition? Falling out?

I have not sailed yet since the new policy has gone in, but on the site we can't mention, there have been posts where people have posted that they were only allowed the 12 pack per cabin. One person in particular explained they had 3 in the cabin and brought 3 six packs of soda and were only allowed to bring on 2.
Several others have posted they were no longer able to send their water/soda as luggage as they had previously. I know you wanted first hand experience, but this is what I have seen via several posts.
Curious. Why can’t “the site we can’t mention” not allowed to be mentioned?

Question
Is it allowed to pay stores and vendors in USdollars or Euros or do you have to use CUC (Cuban travel currency)
I think the answer is no. But I wanted to double check
Thanks.

I wouldn’t worry about it because when you are sleeping nobody will be eating anymore.
You might here some noise during the day but most people don’t go to MDR during lunch

I was on Mariner this past July and speeds were ok for general browsing and email. Forget about streaming videos

Not sure what your "standards" are for declaring the water "over chlorinated". The EPA requires that water have a detectable level as a minimum, and a maximum of 4ppm for municipal water systems. Ships will chlorinate water either taken on in port, or produced onboard, to 4ppm (as required by USPH requirements), but this chlorine will naturally dissipate as the water stays in the storage tanks. The water in circulation is required by USPH to have a detectable level of 0.5ppm at the farthest point from the chlorination equipment. As I pointed out earlier, because the water is circulated, the level in the water under circulation is much more tightly controlled than the "one way" delivery from your municipality to your house, and the levels will be in the 0.7 to 0.5ppm range.
Personally, I've lived on ships for a minimum of six months a year for 43 years, drinking nothing but the ship's water, and have had no health issues from chlorine.
My “standards” come from my wife who is a civil engineer and who has specialized in environmental engineering and water quality for most of her career.
Just stating here what her opinion was on the subject.
I know chengkp you are a regular poster her on cruise critic and have seen you posts many times. I know you know what you are talking about. My apologies if I said something out of wack.
It made sense to me after I asked my wife her opinion. Take is for what’s it’s worth I guess.

All cruise lines over chorine the water on ships. They do it to kills bugs and help to prevent novovirus and other stomach bugs. Drinking the water is fine for short periods of time. If I was living on the ship full time it might be an issue. But for occasional vacations just drink the water on ship and save yourself money.
If I was doing a world cruise that was 3 or more months it would be a different story

I had this issue at my pharmacy. The generic patches are not available and had been on back order for months. The name brand patches are available. The doctor issuing the prescription just has to say no generics. And my insurance did pay.
I know you guys probably won’t believe me but insurance companies do keep track of what generic medicines are in back order and update their system accordingly. I have worked in pharmacy for 15 years. Most of the time a doctor stating no generics isn’t even needed most of the time. But of course better safe than sorry.
The pharmacy I work at is a specialty pharmacy and right now it does not show any generic Transderm patches available. But hopefully it will be available again soon.

The fact that you even posted this shows you are a good person. We all sometimes take for granted out lives and everything we have. Make a donation to Hurricane relief and enjoy yourself because you deserve to have a good time as there is always suffering in the world

The OP just doesn’t seem to get it. Kept calling it bait and switch which it isn’t and shouldn’t be surprised when you book a guaranteed cabin. But I hope they have a good cruise

Hey all.
I have been looking at the Cruise Planner for my Alaskan cruise on July 19, 2019 and trying to decide what I want to do in each port.
Generally there are about 30 or so excursions listed. Does Royal add more excursions as time goes on? It’s only September after all. Or is it just what it is?
Just curious if I should look at third party companies as nothing is really thrilling me yet. And yes I know about the risk of the boat leaving with third party companies.
Thanks for any comments

You can absolutely find the 12-pack of 1L Evians for $12 and even $10. As a matter of fact, I did and do often. No special sale or promo. That's the going price for the 12-pack Box.
I have never seen it this cheap. If I did I certainly would buy it though

No. Age is not the issue. However I consistently hear the Seaborne ran the triplets into the ground and delivered them in deplorable condition.
What are triplets? Thanks

Does this happen because the ship is built in the 1980s? Or just a coincidence?
-
Doesn’t upgrading to a Junior Suite allow you access Coastal Kitchen for dinner? That is also worth considering

WARN act requires at least 60 day notice of layoff of more than 50 employees
They are closing it at the end of the year. More like 120 days notice.

OK, I'll bite - where did you get this info??
Where's the press release.......
You really think Royal would release a press release on this? So me another example of any company releasing a press release when the close and move a call center overseas

What about phone charges and iPad charges. I have a dual usb charger i use to charge both simultaneously. Surely that is alright?
Yes those are fine. USB is designed to be low powered.
Nobody will take those away from you.
