Also, if it is hollow can you store your unpacked suitcases also? Trying to maximize space!
My large bag laying on the floor measures 13" high and fits (just barely) under the bed.
I've been on the Ruby about 7 times since the restart. It's one of my favorite ships.
Enjoy your Cruise !!

If it's the same layout as the Sun Princess, I think Uranus would be appropriate.
This is spot on !!
From what I see of the deck plans Princess is heading in the wrong direction. See you on a different ship.
Uranus is the perfect name.

Last week on the Royal I used the app and no charges were shown during the ordering process. Also no charges showed up on my folio.

Was on the Royal last week in a regular balcony. Ordered a Capricciosa delivered to the cabin. Very good pizza - and no charge.

I was in E730 which is next to the Owners suite. The music from the DJ in the vista lounge goes on until 11:30, sometimes after midnight. The sound that I could hear was mostly the bass line (similar to a bass drum) . Sometimes it's loud enough that you can tell what song is playing. The aft cabins, suite or balcony are my favorite cabins but I would take a pass on the Emerald deck because of the music in the Vista lounge. Most of the other events in the lounge I could not hear.

Is anything worth ordering at CG?
DW says the Sea Bass is the best.
I'm zero for three for beef quality on CG and have not booked again since I can BBQ a better steak at home... sad but true.
Currently on the Royal and DW wants to try the Sea Bass again at the CG so we have a reservation in a few days. Based on the reviews I will skip the Rib eye but might try the filet or could end up ordering the Sea Bass. Either way I will report back..

We just got off the Valient Lady as part of the Virgin Voyages fleet. We probably will no longer be doing a princess cruise again even though we have done about 10 with them and they were our only cruise line. The Virgin Voyages food puts the food to shame on Princess. They have a no charge steak house (Wake) that is superior to Princess. The restraunts are not large room eating areas but small rooms that you make a reservation. The staff on Virgin are very happy and in turn treat the sailor well! The prices are lower also, how do they do it? Free internet for all and no gratuities? See ya
Thanks for the report on Virgin. Glad you liked it and that a new line is challenging the main stream cruise standards.
Not sure about price though. I checked a few times and for a regular balcony it was about 2X the cost.
Also very limited itinerary's but hopefully that will change over time.

...at least JP didn't make the video.
Agree, take a video from any crew over the empty suit in corporate.
Back OT... I will be on the Royal next week and will post staff updates if any.

When things go south with AARP or Princess I usually clear cookies etc as you have done. If that fails I usually try using a different browser on the same device. If that fails I use a different device.
Sometimes one of those techniques navigates one through the minefield of bugs at AARP or Princess, other times - not.

How hard would it be for Princess to give him a fake or inactive medallion just to make a 2 year old happy. That would have been good customer relations.
Just ask...
I was Ruby last December and the father of a 2yo asked for a old medallion from crew member at the Ocean Front desk. The crew pulled out a box of old medallions and gave him one with a lanyard.
I saw the parent later on the cruise and he said his 2yo was very happy with his medallion. Problem solved.

I like that the photographers don't pester us in the dining room any longer. If you want your photo taken you go to the photographer.
+1
Also we can opt out of getting most of the paper ads in our cabin. So refreshing NOT to receive all that EFFY stuff...

Bob , first night on the cruise you get free specialty dining since you are in a suite.
Correct - and if you cant make it the first night ask the suite concierge if you can book the free speciality dinning another night. Sometime they do that, worth asking if you cant make it the first night.
DW and I disembarked the ship about 9am this morning. We had a great cruise - enjoy yours...

We are booked on a 10 day January cruise and had a Mini-Suite and bid on Club Class. Received an email late last week from Princess saying a Club Class Mini Suite was not available but they offered us an upgrade to Penthouse Suite for the same price we had bid on getting Club Class. We were surprised and happily took the upgrade. Happy New Year Princess!!
Great news, enjoy the Suite !!
What range was your bid on the CC? Min, med, Max. Where is the sailing, Hawaii, Mexico, Caribbean, other?

In response to question about ship bars selling drinks while in Galveston
Im on a B2B and just received a note under my door.”Due to local regulations we are unable to fulfill beverage package drinks containing alcohol while the Ruby Princess is in Galveston”
-
Plus includes drinks up to $12. More than $12 you just pay the difference. I been on the Ruby for the past 15 days and only ordered two glasses of wine that were over $12. Currently we’re sailing into 26 knot head wind. Looking forward to picking everyone up and turning around

My point is, you don’t know until you go!
And yes, I’m hesitant about the new Sun Princess!
Thats a good summary. But without aft facing balconies and a good promenade to walk on I might never sail on this mega ship. Bigger is not always better

Picking up the medallion
in Princess Cruises
Posted
Yes, agree with the others, simple and easy to pickup at the pier.
We used to have them mailed to our house before the cruise but now that Padgett charges extra to ship we pick them up at the pier and have had zero problems at the Ports of San Francisco and Vancouver.
