  1. Does anyone know when the season is over for this excursion. We will be there during the last week of November and the limited info I can obtain would suggest the season might be over sometime the first part of November.

  2. Yesterday my sister booked a (Freedom, Tgiving week) balcony for 2 for $1972 (including prepaid gratuities and insurance). Mine was a balcony for 3 for $2654 (including prepaid gratuities and insurance). This morning we put a hold on my son's balcony for 4 (D1) for $3264 (including prepaid gratuities and insurance)....when we booked it in the afternoon the price had gone (back?) to $4500 for everything....yikes! After a long discussion and being on hold for a really long time, TA came back on and ended honoring $3264.

(Plus we all got a Johnny Rockets dining experience coupon)

Some commented on jacking prices on first two to make up for KSF, however, I don't think that happened in our case.

  3. Some food borne illnesses only take 1-4 hours before symptoms appear. Norovirus symptoms appear 12-24 hours after exposed. Sounds like from your own timeline, Senior Frogs would be the likely culprit especially since you are the only one in your cabin that was sick.

It appears you are actually lucky that Royal Caribbean gave you the one day credit.

  4. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!

My wife and I bit on this scam and it costs us $150. The company selling their vacation club tells you up front they are not affiliated with the company giving you your "free" trip. They tell you they pay the company giving you the "free" trip to get you to come and listen to their vacation club sales pitch.

This is what we found out.

    1. You can do just as well shopping around for deals than you can using the vacation club. It will cost you $3000 - $10,000 up front (depending on how well you can wear them down) and then there is a hefty annual fee (I don't remember how much...$500.00??) Thank goodness we didn't bite!

    2. The "free" cruise or airline tickets are not free. We found out the hard way that the "fees" they tell you about end up costing you more than if you booked it on your own. You will pay an initial fee...for us it was $35.00 each. When you receive your "packet" to book your trip you will have to send another $40 fee each to receive your "free" trip. When you finally get around to booking your reservation, they require you to send an additional fee that was going to end up costing us the same as if we had booked the trip on our own with a whole lot more restrictions... but we cut our losses and chalked it up as lesson learned.

    SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!

  5. It's expected that kids will dine in the MDR. That's the reason why my husband and I book a specialty restaurant every night of a cruise. We have experienced far too many screaming, running, jumping and generally misbehaved kids in the MDR on our first few cruises and simply elect to dine in peace and quiet on our vacation. RCCL should enforce its rules and parents that want to dine with their kids can go to the MDR, the buffet and the other family friendly options on board.

I have been on numerous cruises and never have seen kids misbehaving in the the MDR the way you describe. I've seen a whole lot more rude adults misbehave than kids!

"It's expected that kids will dine in the MDR"....who is expecting this? Maybe you should check out RCCL web site. It states:

"Children with a parent or guardian are welcome in our specialty restaurants throughout serving hours. The only exceptions are Chef's Table which requires all guests to be 21 years of age or older, and 150 Central Park which requires families with children under 13 years of age to dine before 7 p.m. Reservations can be made online or onboard at the restaurant based on availability."

  6. My worst sea was a North Sea ferry hull to zeebrugge. Fortunately managed to purchase sea sickness medication in Brugges for the return trip and slept through it on the way back.

Same here...Dec 1994. Dover to Zeebrugge. Return trip was much better. Not sure what the sea state was but the waves were crashing over the bow. My poor DW was in the bathroom pretty much the whole trip.

  7. I was on the Carnival Pride leaving Baltimore the day after Christmas a little over two years ago. We ran into a coastal storm off the east coast and had 12-15 foot seas if I recall. Winds were 60-70 kts.

They cancelled the main dancing show that night due to the rough seas and replaced it with a juggler. While he was on stage, on a 10 foot unicycle juggling machetes he indicated they had cancelled the dancing show because they were afraid one of the dancers would stub a toe.
