  1. I did the ship excursions. Will not next time. Not impressed with the Bonaire company, they were there for their own entertainment. Aruba was good but crowded  (28 on the boat). Curacao was shore diving from the shop, not much to see, coral or fish.

Thank you for the above suggestions as I will be heading back next year and will give them a try.

  2. I don not know which dive operator Royal  currently uses.  When I dove in 2016 it was Red Sails Sports. I will be diving in March off the ship so please post when you find out who it is 🙂.  I would not book another excursion, too much can happen. Last time the boat I was on got involved in a search and rescue for some snorkelers and got back 2 hours late.

  3. We tried to catch the trolly on a Sunday it was full every time it went by if you tried to catch it by any of the forts. After the forts there were spots open but it was a 30min+ wait and limit seats. The drives only allow 4 people per seat no exceptions.

  4. I second Coki Beach Dive. I have dove there a couple of times. When I am finished I just walk down the beach and find the family and then snorkel later on in the day. It is shore diving but easy ,no waves, and I have seen more rays and fish with the shore than I did from the boat. Food and drinks to buy on the beach and it was clean (last time I was there anyway).

  5. My first time out of LA also. Usually go out of Florida. New Orleans is also a cold cruise for the sea days.

You confirmed what I have been reading on posts about the weather. I am bringing warm clothes for 3 days and cold clothes for 4 days, sigh. Back to Florida after this if it really is that cold.:(
