  1. Hello all!

I'll be moving up to Mediterranean loyalty tier on a future cruise  - Which sounds impressive for me, but nothing compared to the number of nights a lot of people have done on here! I see as a perk is says "Cocktail party (on cruises of 8 nights or more)". Just wondering what to expect? And more importantly, my fiancé is on a lower loyalty tier, will the invite be only for myself, or can I take her too? haha!

    Thanks!

  2. I'm sure some people would say on their pre-cruise questionnaire that they have tested positive for Covid 19, or been in contact with someone with it.... I hear if people do that they are automatically told they can't travel and are given credit to use in the future.....

Of course I wouldn't condone this behaviour, but it's probably a way around that some would take.

  3. Another question regarding the shareholder benefit...
Last night I booked another summer cruise, for 20 days time - Carnival the latest you can apply for the shareholder benefit is 3 weeks before. Has anyone had any issues getting the OBC added with less than 21 days to go before sailing?

  4. Finally the day has come where P&O return to cruising! Excited for all of you that are boarding today!

I'm booked on one of Britannia's seacations very soon and can't wait! For those going today, I wonder if you could let us know how the lateral flow testing goes - One of my party is worried about someone else sticking the swab up their nose (would prefer to do it themselves) so I'm hoping one of you can tell me if they offer/allow you to do it yourself, under their supervision - That should alleviate her nerves somewhat!

  5. I’m currently on Virtuosa - last night was a little rough, but not terrible. Not been to the theatre yet, but the rule seems to be wear a mask while moving around, take it off while sat. On the whole it feels safe - and I’d certainly there’s much better mask compliance on here than your local supermarket.

”Activities” haven’t appealing to us much so far, but it’s lovely to relax and be out of the usual four walls!

  6. I placed a bid and now have a YC cabin for the first time.
What benefits should I expect with YC? I see butler, dedicated dining and pool etc.

I assume room service is complimentary with no tray fee too?

    Excited to experience it!

It seems strange. Surely there must be somewhere that shows your current holdings.

I don’t understand what the 2437.66 figure is. Is this American dollars? If so, have you purchased Carnival USA shares (Carnival corporation) rather than Carnival UK (Carnival PLC) shares. In March Carnival PLC shares were around £1600 for 100 shares.

The share price today is Carnival PLC £16.81, Carnival corporation $28

    Brian

It's very odd - I put the money in in £, the CLL.L buy and sell prices are in GBP, but all other numbers show as USD.

Here's the view in my portfolio page - Buy my details aren't shown anywhere on that page.
    I have 205.25 shares.

I'm glad I'm not the only one  confused.

  8. So, with eToro, I can go to "My Portfolio" and is shows the number of Carnival shares I have, but it doesn't show my name etc on that page.

If I download a statement from my account then here's what it shows:

Another page in the document shows my details.

But as you see, it doesn't show the number of shares I own with that transaction.

Do you not get some sort of statement showing your various shareholdings? If you print that off, redact everything that is not Carnival related, that should be sufficient

Not that lists Carnival specifically.  At least not that I've been able to find!

  10. A quick question for other shareholders.

I bought enough shares to get the benefit on board. I used eToro - and I'm finding it impossible to find a page/document that gives all the required info to send on to Carnival for them to implement the on board extras. I've emailed eToro a few times, but whatever they come back with still doesn't seem to be right to fit the criteria Carnival would want.

Who did you guys use to buy your Carnival shares?
Anyone used eToro and know where I can find the correct info?

    Thanks in advance 🙂

Was this using one of the at home tests you can order online/pick up from a pharmacy? I’ve never done one before so don’t know the process.

    Many thanks for the info.

Yes - the ones anyone can get hold of for free to do 2 a week.
When you put the results in online, you then get an SMS and email from NHS stating your details along with the test result. It was a screenshot of that that I sent to MSC, along with telling them it was an NHS lateral flow test.

At first they replied to say that it has been passed on for that to be looked into and they'd get back to me when they have an answer. About a week or so later they sent me another reply to say they now accept showing an SMS or email. So I asked them to confirm that what I had sent them would be usable as the 72 hour pre-arrival test, and they confirmed as long as it was the original and not a screenshot, that was fine.

People could obviously report an incorrect result, or even not take the test, but report a negative result - But all that would do is get them to the terminal, to be tested there and turned away - So in my mind there isn't any benefit to anyone lying when it comes to these pre-arrival tests.

  12. I sent MSC a screenshot of an SMS from NHS with my lateral flow home test results, to ask if that would be acceptable for those who haven't had both vaccines before sailing. They replied to say that as long as I can show it as an SMS and not a screenshot, it would be fine.

So that will save a lot of money on paying for fit to fly test!

  13. Hi all,

Never sailed with MSC before, booked on the maiden of Virtuosa next month - Excited!
Just wondering when/how I can find out how many nights will have a formal dress code?

    Thanks!

I find it odd that the crew are not going to be vaccinated.  So they are tested for 2 weeks and then they go on board.  There is nothing to say that us vaccinated people cannot carry it on board after an excursion or even Southampton, so then we could give it to the crew

I think I read that all crew would quarantine and then be tested weekly onboard. I don't think there's much more they can do really.
