  1. I am not sure if this is the correct venue to sing the praises of a concierge, and if someone will tell me a better place, I will gladly repeat myself, but I just have to say that Luca Lorio on Mariner last week was fantastic. Whenever we asked for help, he seemed genuinely glad to be of assistance. I watched on many occasions as Luca worked a crowd either in the Concierge Lounge or in the halls and he tried his best to get to everybody and make sure they were all having a good time.

This was my first time on RCCL, and as long time fan of the Neptune Lounge on HAL, I went into this cruise with some reservations. While the coffee machine in the Concierge Lounge is indeed inferior to those in the Neptune Lounge, the service we received was not. Also, it is in no small part due to the care we received from Luca that we have canceled a HAL cruise for next Spring break and replaced it with NOS from NOLA. Before Mrs. Trout would let me book it, she made me promise Luca would be on board.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to get concierges transferred.

    Trout

If Karen is still onboard I believe Mrs. Trout will quite happy with the service she will receive. Karen is a top notch concierge. Enjoy.

  2. May have used LMT for the first and last time. I had read about foreign transaction fees being applied to charges made to them and sure enough it happened to me. Even though this appears to be something they are quite aware of they will not remove the charge without a copy of my credit card statement. Not happening. Did a copy and paste and received an email back stating they wanted a copy of my statement. I don't think this is something a customer should have to go through. So while I got a great price their customer relations/service gets a big fat zero. Looks like it is back to PL and Hotwire for me.

  3. Do you know how much the block went for? I have an extra Mariner of the Seas one. However, as heavy as it is, I can see a problem shipping it.

I think I will see if I can trade it for another ship one on our upcoming Royal cruises.

    Tucker in Texas

Sorry I don't know it was an auction and I really wasn't watching it.

  4. ROFL LOL.........isn't it amazing what you can find on ebay these days? My husband was curious and took a look and couldn't believe what RCI items were listed.

I have seen everything from crystal blocks to napkins. I can understand the blocks, bags, towels etc but cannot for the life of me figure out why someone would buy napkins and drink stirring sticks.

  5. Frankly I won't be too sorry to see the beach towels go. With luggage limitations on all the airlines now, I don't think many cruisers want to add that much weight to their bags on the way home. I would prefer something I could actually use on the cruise...maybe a discount on a specialty restaurant, free specialty coffee, etc.

The towel has been one of our selections since they started the program. Agree they do add weight but we usually account for it when packing. There is already a coupon for BOGO first night specialty resaurant and the CL has a coffe machine for expresso, frappachiono (sp) etc.

  6. Holy crap it went through! I was playing around and really didn't think it would work, but I chose zone 8, $75 bid for a 3.5 star in San Juan and .....

It said "it's in the bag!"

lol I can't stop laughing because I really didn't think it was going to go through already, I wasn't totally prepared, but it's done.

    Radisson Ambassador

    three rooms

$260.70 total for all three rooms...is this a good price?

What is near the hotel? Can I walk to anything interesting? How far from the Carnival pier?

Sorry for all the questions, but I haven't even booked the flights or cruise yet!

Looks like you now have to book a cruise.

In my opinion you got a really good price. Hotels in San Juan are typically quite pricey. If my memory is correct I believe I have read that there are some restaurants and a CVS or Walgreens close by.

    What dates?

  7. Found this info posted elsewhere by someone else and figured it might help someone over here.

    Radisson Amabassador San Juan

    11/30/12 1 night precruise

Bid zone 8, Resort and 4 star $75 rejected.

    Rebid zone 8 added 3.5 star increased to $80 accepted + fees $16.97 = 96.97

Pricing on hotel website shows total cost of $218.38.
