Attempted to take some pictures of foliage, but was thwarted by smoke and haze. So I took some pictures of one of the last remaining Grand Hotels in NH.

I’m curious as to how that lens performs for higher speed shots like wildlife or sports?
I don't have any sports or wildlife shots, but would fighter jets be fast enough for you?

Drove up north to see if there was any foliage still, but it looks like I missed the peak. Still pretty though.

I use it regularly with my T6i and it basically lives on my camera. Other than reducing the number of lenses you have to bring, it's great to be able to go from a relatively wide angle and zoom right in on something without having to swap lenses. These pics were both taken with that lens to give you an idea of how much flexibility you get with it.

Tamron does have an 18-300mm lens for Sony E-mount, but I'm not sure if your camera has that. I haven't used that particular one, but I do have their 18-200mm and 18-400mm and I've been very happy with having to bring less lenses on trips.

Hidden in Orion just below the belt is a nebula just barely visible to the naked eye.
More magnification reveals what is there.

How did you do this?
I took 25 10-second exposures with a 400mm lens and a tracking mount and stacked them together with astrophotography stacking software. Then processed the image in lightroom.

Braved the cold on Friday night and got a picture of the Orion nebula.

Nice! What /camera/lens/settings did you use?
For the milky way one, I was using an 8mm f/3.5 fisheye. I took 5 two minute shots and stacked them together to bring up all the stars. For the Andromeda one, I used a 50mm f/1.8. There were 4 two minute shots stacked to make that one. All were taken with a Canon T6i and a Slik ECH-630 Astro Tracker.
