    Lol! Thanks!

I actually have to correct you. TIA is not my name. It meant "thanks in advance"

But a big thank you for the recommendation and the pics.

It looks like an awesome beach and I love that there are bar options.

And I bet my wife and daughter will love that drink you mentioned too.

    Thanks again,

    Brian

DUH.. TIA-- of course! sorry wasn't paying attention. HA.

    Have a great time Brian!

So, just to be clear, if you're facing the beach this newer bar is to the right of Soggy Dollar?

Do they have chairs available by them too?

    TIA

Hi TIA.. yes, that's correct!   I found the exact name-- " Hendo's Hideout"  I recall there were plenty of free loungers.  Oh and if you go, they make this amazing cocktail on their drinks menu with coconut milk, lime juice, rum.  Just a bit of sweetness, not blended but shaken and poured over ice... YUM I think I had about 8 of them.  HA!

---the things you remember from a vacation!  LOL

    Cheers from The Berm!

    Some great pics:

  3. I was last there in Dec18.   I think we the later trip and there was plenty of time to enjoy it. The transfer is about 45 minutes if I recall correctly.

Check out the newer beach bar next door to Soggy Dollar—-if you are standing in the water — To the right. ( I think it’s called Hendo’s?). I found it to be much better quality.  Food, drinks, vibe and service were all very good!

  4. Hello!  Will be cruising on the DAWN December 16th / 2018 from San Juan.  In the past I've always departed from Miami and have both checked my luggage curbside and a few times also rolled it on board myself.

I'm booked in a SD Category suite so would the staff escort to the suite handle the luggage to speed things up?  What is recommended?

    Thanks for any feedback!

  5. Enjoy Havana!

Be sure to see the show at the Tropicana Club.  Totally worth the price of a ticket!

Book it thru the ship, they transfer you via very nice motor coaches which is included.

Also, just outside the wharf terminal to the left ( if I recall) you will see a bus stop / pole for the walk on/walk off tour bus.  It's double decker and It was great!  it's a narrated tour that makes a huge loop around the city and you can get off and on as you like.  It was very inexpensive too

We had the family suite w/o balcony back in May to Bermuda.  Loved having the extra floor space, coffee/espresso/latte maker. Complimentary water, bottle of champagne. (have your butler bring in OJ for mimosa's).  There is a tub and separate shower.  The king size bed is oh so comfy!!  Lots of closet space and drawers. We actually got it from the bidding process.  We were in a regular balcony and they accepted my bid!  Enjoy your suite!  It's in the perfect area.  You just exit your cabin, walk down the short hall and you're at the pool and just beyond that the Garden Cafe'.Norwegian Dawn Cruise Ship Staterooms _ Staterooms _ Norwegian Cruise Line.html

Thanks so much @fridaythe13th!  Funny, I had initially booked an inside cabin which I am usually fine with when solo but my boss was giving me a hard time for not splurging and treating myself.  I'm sure there will be no regrets!    I see now I have the option of bidding for a Owner's Suite which I considered but no balconies so will pass.  The suite I am in has an unobstructed few of the front of the ship!  privacy wall on the other end of the balcony.   Did the fact that there is no coverage/privacy from the Deck 13 running track above bother you?  Cheers  Hope you had a great time here in Bermuda!

DW and I were just off the Dawn a week ago from San Juan on her first sailing of the season. As posted above, muster drill is at 4-4:30pm. Other than that, there's really not much going on on the ship so you could drop your bags early and catch a cab to Old San Juan for a few hours. We got to the terminal around 11:45am and it was obvious that there were a lot of people entering the terminal and dropping off their bags so I'm sure you can drop them off earlier than that. As soon as muster is done the Sail Away party begins at the pool area, even though actual sail away isn't for another 4 hours! We though the party was a complete dud (not that many people showed up) and actual sail away ended up being a bit boring and anti-climatic. Otherwise, we had a wonderful cruise!!

Thanks SO much @Stinger-pr!  This is really helpful info.  We will be staying in OSJ for a couple of pre-nights.  So there is conflicting info on where the ship is docked.   E-docs shows Pan American Wharf but some posters in our Roll-Call have called NCL this past week and were told wharf #4 in OSJ so who knows!.  Any must-sees/do's on the cruise/ports that you would care to share?  Thanks again!

  8. Hi Cruisers

My friends and I will be flying in to San Juan December 14th, 2 nights stay in advance of the Southern Caribe cruise on Sunday the 16th.   The ship does not leave port until 9pm.  Can anyone share if there is the typical sail away party around cocktail hour or nothing special happening and really no need to rush back to the ship necessarily before the 7pm cut off.

Also-- I'm solo and have booked a family suite w/ balcony.  Looking very much forward to experiencing this cabin!  I would love to hear your feedback as well if you have too recently.

Thank you & cheers from Bermuda!
