  1. Looking for opinions and guidance on whether or not to book an inside guarantee room on the Epic. First time cruiser on NCL. To pick our own cabin is over $500 more and to go to a balcony is almost $1000 more. Also any advice on the Epic would be much appreciated. Good, bad?
  2. Right now it is the 4 free perks - drink package, WiFi, dining package and shore excursion credit. It also comes with a $100 USD on board credit.
  3. Looking at booking our first NCL cruise for next Feb 2021. There is what I think a decent deal for an guarantee inside cabin for 2 - $2049 CDN. Thoughts on if this is a good deal? Will I regret booking a “guarantee” cabin? To pick our own cabin inside would be $2183 and balcony is $2933. Any guidance on staterooms or ship would be appreciated.
  4. On our first Alaskan cruise this coming Wednesday as well as our first with HAL! Just wondering if the SBP includes bottled water, soda, milkshakes, etc. Or is that only with the Elite package?
  5. Does the Volendam have cabanas? We are our first Alaskan cruise early May and if they have them maybe we would rent one for the day. Thanks!
  6. We will be on our first Alaskan cruise this coming May! We have decided to purchase the signature beverage package and then decide once on board if we want to upgrade to the elite beverage package. We can do this, right? How soon on board do we have to make this decision and how do we go about doing it? Thanks for all the help!
  7. If we purchase the Signature package ahead of time and decide while on board to upgrade to Elite, can we do this? Do we have to do this right away or can we do it a day or two into the cruise?
  8. We are on our first Alaskan Cruise this coming May!! We are debating between the signature and elite drink package. Is the wine really that bad with the signature package? All other drinks we would have are under the $9 limit for the signature. Just wondering if it is worth the upgrade just for wine.
  9. On my bucket list is to dog sled while we are in Alaska in May. We can book just dog sledding at a Musher's camp (don't want to helicopter to a glacier) or we can book a Yukon Discovery full day tour which can include dog sledding. I am wanting time to spend with the dogs/puppies.......will the Yukon tour be too rushed with the dog sledding portion? I like the idea of the full day Yukon tour - sounds like we would see a lot of the country side. Please help!!
  10. So excited to be on our first Alaskan cruise in May!! The two must do excursions for us are whale watching and dog sledding (not by helicopter on a glacier). From what I have read, Juneau seems to be the place to do the whale watching. From researching a lot of the whale watching tours include Mendenhall Glacier. We are in Juneau from 1pm to 10pm - will there be time to do the combo tour? Is it worth doing both? What companies are recommended? I understand that this is a "tender" port so getting off and on the ship may take some time. Is Skagway a good port for dog sledding? We will be there 7am to 9pm so plenty of time! I am not interested in going on a helicopter tour to a glacier to dog sled. What other options are available at this port for dog sledding? Any other must dos in Skagway? Ketchikan is another port we visit. Planned on just visiting the town - but anything else that can be recommended not to miss? Thanks for all the help! Trying to get everything planned out.
  11. Have been wanting to cruise Alaska for so many years, and I think 2019 will be the year! Looking at Holland America out of Vancouver May 8 to 15. Am I being crazy - is that way too early??? Will it be too cold to enjoy?
