Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Hi! My husband and I usually do NCL and Royal. We have done a few post covid cruises on Royal with our younger kids. We are now thinking of a cruise for just hubby and I on Celebrity. We want to do a Europe cruise and it looks like the Equinox will be sailing there in summer 2024. The reviews seem like a mixed bag and while noting that everyone's expectations/experiences are different, anyone have any comments/suggestion on trying the Equinox after typically doing Royal? We have been happy with Royal (not having done any of the mega-ships...more like Freedom class). We are foodies and the MDR on Royal has been underwhelming, but that wouldn't deter me (Equinox would be a 9 night sailing so hopefully their food options/service would improve). We also like the entertainment/shows. Looks like Equinox will be in dry dock just before we would sail it. Thanks in advance!
  2. Hello. We're sailing out of Port Canaveral's Terminal 1 (I believe that's the one for RC/Independence) next month. I've always parked offsite in the past, but am considering parking at the actual port for the upcoming trip. 1) I'm wondering if there's a chance the parking deck could get full (especially with several people being on vacation for spring break)? 2) I'm also wondering how crowded the deck can get once you've returned from the boat and are trying to leave? I read in a previous post, which I can't locate now, that the exit line gets pretty backed up and can really delay your start to getting back on the road. For this reason, I'm wondering if off-site parking would be quicker. Does it get backed up just for those who get off the boat later and for how long? Thanks in advance for the feedback!
  3. We are planning a cruise with extended family around Thanksgiving. I have a 5 year old and 7 year old. We have previously sailed on Independence and the kids loved it...there was so much for them to do, especially with Splashaway Bay. They spent hours there! It seems that Mariner has a lot of the same stuff as Independence, but without Splashaway Bay. Is there something similar on Mariner? I'm just trying to get an idea of what kids that age do since most of the other features seem the same as Independence. I know Mariner is in drydock but it seems to be for some smaller tech related items. Thanks in advance!
  4. Hi. My husband and I are thinking of cruising on Paradise with my 5 & 7 year olds during their spring break. They went on their first cruise last fall (not Carnival) and had a blast considering that ship has a big kids pool/splashpad, skating rink, etc. I know that Paradise is a much smaller and older ship (although nicely updated), so I'm wondering how much there is for 2 kids to do over 4 days. The Waterworks area seems pretty nice, along with the kids club. Just want to make sure they stay busy so that the grown-ups can relax 🙂 Any other comments/suggestions? Thanks in advance!
  5. Can someone tell me if the balcony rooms on Independence come with a curtain that separates between the bed and couch/living area? Thanks in advance!
  6. I will be cruising in October with our 5 and 6 year olds. Are there enough other activities/pools/beaches that are not an additional charge at Coco Cay to keep that age entertained for the day? I would prefer not to buy tickets for the waterpark. Thanks in advance!
