Enjoying your review homie! We cruised the Fantasy back when it was here in Nola and also did the porthole cabins. I have been curious about sailing from Mobile as well but probably wouldn't do it since the ports are the same.(plus we live 10 miles from the port) Looking forward to the rest of your review.(and football season. Who Dat!)

What time was your flight out of FLL? We are doing this itinerary next year and curious about flight times for our return trip home.

We did the river cruise with them. Fantastic time. Remember to bring money for a DVD.
How much is the DVD?

The 7 day! Two extra days on a cruise ship plus better ports.

Welcome to Cruise Critic! You can learn a lot about your upcoming cruise and save a lot of money in the ports with the info on here.

Really enjoyed watching the videos. Thanks for posting.

We often book the 4J cabins and love them! It's almost like having a huge balcony since the open deck in front is just a few steps away.

Great pics! Thanks for sharing!

Following along for the ride!

Thanks for posting these! We are doing this same itinerary on the Horizon next year and like knowing about the formal nights as well as the deck parties. We will be sure to bring some white attire as well as some 80's stuff!

Does Seavis recruit people from roll calls to promote their tours? We have some who keep posting links in our roll call group to encourage people to book.
Yes they do recruit people from the roll calls to be the group leader and try to recruit people to go on the tour. Everyone in the group gets 10% off and the group leader gets their tour for free for helping to fill up the tour. You have to pay a 20% deposit up front and pay off the balance in cash when you get there. We are booked on this tour for our cruise next year and can't wait!

Easily one of the best reviews I have ever read here on Cruise Critic! Really enjoyed the humor,(still laughing my ass off at the Trump shirt), the pics, and your touching tribute to your soul mate. Thanks for taking the time to post everything and taking us all along for the ride.
Our first Alchemy Bar experience was on the Glory a few years ago and Brian was our bartender.(small world) Never had a bad drink at that bar.

Great pics and videos! Enjoying your review!

I drive for Uber in the New Orleans area so I may be biased, but it really is an inexpensive way to get around. Uber vehicles are quicker, cheaper, and cleaner than taxis. At least that's the feedback I have gotten from my riders which includes both locals and tourists.

Thanks for the info. Have to renew my wife's passport and was wondering how long it took.

Still enjoying your pics and review! Thanks for taking the time to do this.

Never had a cove balcony so I can't comment on that, but I'm a local and did quite a few cruises out of Nola. Embarkation/Debarkation is a very smooth and quick process. Hope you have a great time down here!

Hope you have a great time down here before your cruise! Lots of great food and drinks to indulge in!

We always bring our soft sided cooler bag to keep drinks cold in the room which works better than trying to use the fridge.

We did this itinerary years ago on the Victory and totally agree with you about the sea day. It is a very busy cruise with so many ports. We found ourselves not staying up late to party like on other cruises because we had to get up early the next day to get off the ship. Having said all that, it is still my favorite of the 11 cruises I have done and plan to do it again in the future.

I like to buy some cruise cash to pre pay some of the expenses on the ship. This helps to reduce the amount on the final sail & sign bill.

We have been to Cozumel in December and while we had to wear a jacket for sailaway from Nola, it was plenty warm down there.
-
We always pre pay the tips when we cruise. Some ships have had better service than others, but all were worthy of the tips and we usually tip a little extra in cash to staff members that deserve it.

We are doing the Saona Island excursion next year but with an independent company. Carnival does tend to overbook with their excursions. A number of years ago we did cave tubing in Belize with an independent company and it was awesome! There were only 2-3 people linked together on tubes with a guide. We saw the Carnival sponsored group on the same excursion and there were about 15 people linked together.

We love dressing up for 80's parties and plan to do so on our Horizon cruise next year. I'll be looking for your 80's gear Checkers!
