There is a $4.95 "service charge" plus 20% mandatory tip.

I guess I stand corrected. It has been a while since we have cruised but I guess even if I was charge 6 dollars for a pot of coffee and the continental breakfast it wasn't going to break me but they are notorious for the nickle & diming.

  2. So what I am saying is I have always been able to see what staterooms were available when selecting anything not sail away.  This time I wanted a club balcony but not sail away but it automatically came up as guaranteed and I see no way to bypass that in order to see what decks and staterooms are available.

It's still a month away...but I'm wishing it was closer! I'll be onboard the Joy March 18th and will report back. I certainly don't plan to go to the Beatles show if offered, but I hope it's offered for all y'all expecting it.

A total aside, big surprise, eh? Can't NCL, just on one ship, put music in a Syd's/Cavern Club environment that's from like the late 90's or 2000's? I know I ask a lot, but I just don't want no Fleetwood Mac, Beatles, etc...I know you all do! I get it and I understand. I'm just asking for one ship for us Millennials. I suppose if I'm cruising in twenty to thirty years I'll be happy though. 🤠

Ha ha ha. Yes I was going to say if you hold off cruising for twenty years they will be covering  Nirvana and  Pearl Jam. Which I wouldn't mind. I kind of liked the music my kids listened to. Can't say I will want to be cruising 40 years from now though.

  4. I am sure this has been discussed but the search feature isn't working at the moment and I am wondering why on a 14 day trans-atlantic they still only give you 2 free meals for 2?  You would think since it is basically twice the cost of a 7 day they would give you twice the percs.

  5. I haven't been on the boards since my last cruise. I went to the NCL website to book a cruise for next January or February and the payment options were pay in full or arrange for monthly payments. What happened to the deposit with final payment 120 days out from cruise?

This has now become the most bizarre discussion I've ever witnessed on CC.  So you folks don't want a crowded ship, but you also don't want a less crowded ship.  It really just sounds like you want an excuse to complain regardless of the number of passengers on the ship.  Is that is?  You just aren't happy unless you have something to complain about?  Yeah, I've met your kind.  Hopefully you won't be among the crowd (or non crowd) on my next sailing.

I sincerely hope to run into you someday on a cruise. It would be interesting to see if you are as hateful when not hiding behind the computer screen

  7. Thanks. I upgraded to the SC from the club mini and lost my free laundry and treats. 😔 But the stateroom and balcony were larger and I figured in case we wind up spending more time in room due to covid it was worth the extra $'s. Hopefully I won't be disappointed.

Well, I think it is quite relevant to question why a person would be expressing such an outrageous concern; especially in a feel good thread about a cruise ship with much fewer passengers.  That said, it's a free country/forum and I'll post whatever I want.  Just FYI.....

I don't think her concern is outrageous. Some people are, and enjoy, friendly people and it is much easier to get a "crowd" to join in on festivities than it is 4 or 5 people.

Checked in for February 5 cruise and did minute clinic under my friends name with my information (both of our names are Jennifer and I was under wrong tab) to cancel I need a registration code (not Norwegian passenger id, not barcode #) did not receive a registration code emailed or text to me any idea what this code is.

Do you suppose you could just fill in her info under your tab? Sounds like a job for NCL or maybe try to contact CVS and ask them. Maybe they can delete for you.

When we checked in that reference ID number was already filled in. I didn't change it. Worked as is.

So you didn't have a number from NCL to compare it to? There are numbers there but I hesitated to proceed because it says to make sure they are correct. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

  11. Bummer. I couldn't take the chance and canceled my bids. I had already self paid and upped to the SC category for what would have been the lowest bid so I will just stick with that. Odds were against me winning the aft haven cabins as I only did 100 dollars up from the minimum but I was afraid if too many people backed out of the cruise I might have actually won it. I will be thrilled just to make it to and through the cruise.

  12. I have often wondered why they put supposed positive people in the same room waiting for retest. They need to isolate from one another unless they were already together as a couple. Sheesh! Sorry it was stressful. Hopefully it won't happen again.
