  1. I was on Magic Oct. 22 and we didn't get a notice, just saw it in the FT. It was last sea day which is dumb. 6 people showed up and we have dozens who signed up. Had a great discussion with the head of entertainment. It's embarassing so few show.

We had the same thing happen on the Oct. 1 sailing of the Conquest. Was told we would get an invitation but saw it in the Funtimes. It was the next to the last day and only 6 people showed up. We also had a talk with head of entertainment and suggested they talk with Cruise Critic about it. There were drinks and snacks there but with so few people no one stayed long.

  2. We were able to book through Southwest, so we get the perk of free bags! Which is always really nice. Also the rates for tickets was around $450 - which is closed to what we paid 3 years ago. Travel Agent said that anything under $500 to San Juan is pretty fair. We originally planned to sail the 6 day southern later in the month, but that flight was nearly booked - causing flights to be about $763 per person! So we switched to the early October flight

We're looking at 420.00 pp on Southwest right now flying in on Saturday and coming back on Monday. Maybe we should look at going ahead and booking.

  3. We are flying in early on Sunday. Flight arrives around noon. Hoping for good luck with that. Travel agent said should be fine as ship doesn't depart until 10pm. We flew in on Sunday, day of boarding last trip as well & didn't have any problems... so hoping for a repeat of the same :)

Did you get a good deal on flights? I have been looking but hope to get something a little cheaper. Haven't done San Juan before so wondering if prices now are the best we will get.

  4. We just returned from our Freedom cruise, Oct. 3-9. I booked Courtney from the reviews I had read. We got off the ship and asked for Courtney and they had us wait at the side and they called for Courtney. Courtney was very professional and even accomodated a member of our party that was unexpectedly in a wheelchair. Courtney took us to Fern Gully and drove us around to see different areas of the island to see how the people live. We went to see a spice lady and listened to her tell about spices and see where they are grown. She was very interesting to listen to. He took us to a pottery place to watch them make pottery. The let my nephew make a pot from clay and that was the highlight of the tour for him. We wanted to go to the Blue Hole but due to the rains they had been having the water was very muddy so we decided to skip that. We then had him drop us off at the Island shopping area by the ship so my dad could go back and rest. We said our goodbyes to Courtney and spent the next couple of hours shopping a spending time at the beach by Margaritaville. I give a big thumbs up to Courtney. He gave us a very informative and safe tour of the island and I highly recommend him as a tour guide. Thanks Courtney for a wonderful day in Ocho Rios.

  5. We will be using Courtney in Oct. What is a must see? There will be 9 of us, 7 adults, 1 15 yr old and 1 10 yr old. We don't want to do Dunns' River Falls. Courtney said he could take us to see a Botanical Gardens, take us up in the mountains, and a rain forest. What else is good?
