  1. OK, thanks. Gotcha. In the past when we have cruised around the Med and Europe I have seen several of the Mein Schiff ships and often wondered what they were like inside. Thanks again for the update.
  2. This is a good video but the area is quite a bit smaller than on the Venezia. The sauna layout it strange with the high bench and then the lower area. No whirlpool/hot tub either. In the locker room on Venezia the towels are stored where the sink is on Firenze. But I am sure you are still going to enjoy it. If you do get a chance though, think about at least one cruise on Venezia just to compare the two setups! I wanted to book a back to back on Firenze to check it out but now that I have seen this video I am not intrigued enough to book it after all. Guess I was just too spoiled by Venezia!
  3. Did I read that correctly that the change rooms were single sex but the showers there were mixed? Or did it mean the mixed showers were in the pay spa area? Was the sauna a good size?
  4. I totally agree with you about refurbishments! I am looking forward to our 33 days on Legend soon so I can see if anything changed with the drydock just completed. We fly to London July 4th and sail July 7th. Where did you find the video reviewing the Firenze? I would like to check it out. Thanks.
  5. Hi Asinnard! (This is the response I gave to jer_I on the other board about saunas on the ships regarding the Firenze.). The Firenze is the sister ship to the Venezia so they should be the same in the men's area and are free to use. I was on Venezia out of New York City on 10-28-23 and really enjoyed the facilities. It is hard to get a good idea of the deck plans on those two ships though because they are not like the other Carnival ships in the fleet with interactive deck plans. Theirs are just in pdf form. However, if you go to cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/index.php you can see a better representation and they both look the same to me. Also, if you go to the other board, "Fitness, Spa & Sports Cruises" under Special Interest Cruising and then go to page 75, posting 1862 on 8-25-23 that was posted by Mojitos24 they posted some really great pictures of the men's area. Hope that helps and enjoy your cruise!
  6. You didn't forget to post them last fall. They are on page 79, but great to see them again!
  7. Hi _Aquarius_. I saw your posting that you were going to be on the MSC Seashore in October, 2023. Is that ship in the same class as the MSC Seascape? I live in Texas and have cruised on 57 Carnival cruises but MSC is building a new terminal with parking garage in Galveston and will be porting the Seascape there. It is open for bookings already starting November, 2025. Since we can't go any higher in the Carnival loyalty program, and MSC has a matching program we are thinking we might try the Seascape. I have looked on the deck plan for Seascape and found the gym located on Deck 8 but it doesn't have any indications where the sauna is. On the link for saunas/steamrooms on this site it shows there is a free men's sauna but no steamroom. Can you tell me a little more about the layout if it is the same as the ship you were on? Thanks, Larry.
  8. Has a good itinerary, you may like it. Would be great to share stories with you as well.
  9. Yes, the view is incredible. I am sure you will enjoy it. We are booked again in January, 2025 for a back to back 7 day and 14 day from Port Canaveral and a 14 day in November, 2025 from Canaveral!

  11. Hi Lovetocruise38! I think you will enjoy the whirlpool/hot tub on Venezia. It is just outside the door of the sauna and convenient. If you go back to page 75, posting #1862, 8-25-23, Mojitos24 posted some really good pictures of the men's area. That sauna is very large and comfortable even with several people in it. Even though the hot tub can only hold 2 comfortably it can make for some great conversations! When are you going on Venezia? I was on the Oct 28, 2023 sailing and made an additional posting about the glass door on the shower in the locker area being covered and Natefish95 also commented about that. Our sailing was a 12-day; how many days will you be on?
  12. I just learned that Carnival Legend is in a fairly long drydock (4-27-24 to 5-29-24). I read about some changes and additions but saw nothing regarding any information about the men's free sauna and steam rooms. It would be nice to spruce them up but just don't want them removed. We will be on Legend for a triple back to back in July from Dover, England (July 7, 19 and 28th) for 33 days. Looking forward to some great conversations in a "freshened up" ship! Anyone else going on any or all three of these cruises?
  13. Yes, New Braunfels is on IH-35 northeast of San Antonio about 20 miles. And, yes, the Splendor sailing in 2019 (?) from California to Singapore was the one with the final stop before Singapore of Phu Mai (Saigon). That was the deal breaker for me because I will NEVER go back to that country. I didn't lose anything over there during my year assignment, and I AIN'T going back to look for anything either! Maybe you would get a chance to book one of the January 2025 cruises and we could chat again! Email me at ldcmo1214 at gmail dot com for more off-topic info.
  14. I just came across this thread a week or so ago and have been reading from page 1 and finished page 85 today. I was also on that cruise on Venezia out of NYC. Sailed Oct 28, 2023 and went into the locker room the morning of Nov 2 and saw the maintenance crew of about 6 guys and tools all over the floor. They were putting that adhesive "cover" on the shower door and I wondered why. Anyway, guess someone may not have been comfortable being "seen" by others and complained so it was covered up. I really enjoyed the time in the sauna in the evenings after dinner and the whirlpool did fit 2 comfortably. Had some nice conversations in there and in the sauna with several great guys. Will be going on it again in January, 25 for a b2b 7-day and 14-day out of Orlando. It, too, has become my favorite ship for sauna facilities!
