Where did the OP even hint that anyone should refund the cost of the cruise. Why admonish them for something they never said?

My thought is they will have no problem and everything will be back to normal soon. But I can understand their having some concern. This big of a disruption for this long is near unprecedented and due not only to the weather but also to their systems failing. The weather will pass but can their systems be relied upon?

My reply was not directed at the OP. Another thread was merged into here. I was replying to post #38, Oldsweets was the OP before the merge.

I'd suggest some sympathy in your own post.

Nope, I don't need to give this person any sympathy. The airline's failures were happening well before they needed to get to the ship. They had ample opportunity to arrange something. I've been in a similar situation this year. Airlines were pretty awful for on time performance and cancellations as a whole. I chose a couple weeks before a cruise to just cancel my flight and drive to the port. Being proactive can help avoid problems the majority of the time.

  3. So are you looking for sympathy that you didn't act sooner? Southwest has been having problems for a good week now. You had plenty of time to make alternate arrangements, be it book another airline, drive, take a train, hitchhike, whatever. If you didn't purchase insurance to cover an event such as this, tough luck. Take some personal responsibility. Southwest is refunding your transportation you booked with them, and giving you an additional $200. Carnival had no disruptions, it's not their issue. Southwest doesn't sell cruises, so why would they refund you a cruise? smh

  4. Zenith was on the same itinerary when I was on my first cruise, little me thought the ship looked really cool with that big X and the dark blue color of the ship. Sovereign or Monarch of the Seas was also following us around, and I was really jealous the ship I was on didn't have the big UFO room on top. 🤣

LOL NCL doesn't provide box lunches to take on excursions, regardless of where you go to get your food.  In fact, nearly every port-day Freestyle daily has a section saying that no food is allowed on or off the ship.  Just imagine the chaos if they did!

I've never requested "take-out" from the Local because I was under the impression that you couldn't - but I usually get a cheeseburger that comes in a basket, not on a plate.  And tends to get messy.  But after my last 2 burgers (2 different ships) I probably won't be ordering a burger from them again - they were AWFUL!  I don't know what they were using but it wasn't normal hamburger.  Too bad because they used to have really good burgers.

    It was probably hamburder meat.

I hadn't realized it either, but none of the Ecstasy class ships have a Steakhouse!  You can order Steakhouse selections in the main dining room, though.

And Paradise doesn't even have Bonsai Sushi, which is found on Elation & Ecstasy.

Paradise does have a sushi counter on the promenade, next to the casino and atrium.

What if when you leave your chair you take a pic with your phone of you in your chair, getting a time stamp.  That way if anyone moves your stuff before the required time, you can prove you were only gone so long.  Just a thought....

Go for it, nobody will stop you from taking that selfie.

Or care if they moved your stuff. Just a thought....

Were you ther only one in the cabin?

Some cruises yes. One cruise no. Of the 2 of us in the cabin, only one of us had a drink package once. Took a couple trips to guest services to straighten things out.

However, OP asked "can 1 person buy drink package onboard" and the straight forward answer to that straight forward question is yes.
