I just had this itinerary. You will change the sea day before you dock on the Continent.

Went on two this year. One to Pisa and the other to Rome. The guides were knowledgeable but both locations were so crowded, (middle of August) it was not that enjoyable. In addition, the day in Rome was a Sunday, so no access to the Colosseum because of local crowds. It’s free to them on Sunday. And the Vatican had very limited access as well.
Pisa was great, but I’d only go at a time less crowded.

I ride German trains all the time, and if he can board by himself, it will be allowed to take a folding wheelchair.
You realize that Oktoberfest only takes place in Munich, right? Anything else is only a reflection.

I hated the forward suite with the slanted ceiling. I asked to see if I could transfer to any other suite even if it was less expensive just to get away from the suite. It has no closet space and is claustrophobic. Others may like it but I sure didn't.
I loved the suite we had on Dolphin deck on Sky Princess. In fact my impressions were exact opposite of yours. 🙂

Did this trip last Thanksgiving week and had a suite at the stern of the ship with a wraparound balcony. You won’t regret it.
-
The Catch and Sabatini’s are both excellent.
-
Ate at the Catch last week of July. Food was excellent. Had Crepe Suzette. Not flamed tableside, but adequate.
Did not notice any excess noise, and we were not by the window.

Aren't Princess and Celebrity the same company? Or is it RCCL I'm thinking of?

I was o Celebrity’s website today. It’s worse.

We were recently in cabin d 121 on Sky Princess. It has a forward facing picture window which we loved. There was also a balcony on the side of the ship. Not large, but then on this class of ship only the aft balconies are decent IMHO. The cabin itself was a bit larger than the average suite, albeit with a slanted front wall.
There were some rough seas on the cruise and my wife and grandson got seasick. No question there is more motion and slapping sounds in 3 meter waves.
I would book again in a heartbeat. My wife said never again!

Last cruise on Sky last week, we were always offered one extra appetizer and one extra main course every dinner. On surf and turf night we were offered Lobster Thermidor, for example.

Glad that your granddaughter is tame 😁(wish mine were). What did you mean to say?
She went into the concierge lounge whenever she wanted to.

is there a age limit for the Concierge lounge?
AFAIK there is none. Four years ago my ten yo granddaughter ran tame on Regal Princess. Our suite was just across the hall.

Did pop to main pool about 4 and quite a few gaps and space but a group of 4 still with everything on it the same as at 8 this morning. That's just rude!
Won't spoil our hols though.
I’m on this cruise. There is a sign noting a half hour limit to chair hogs. I wouldn’t hesitate to remove a towel only under this rule. Likely, you’ll never be challenged. And if you are, assert the rule.

But what if the person is in the pool? I think that deserves a little consideration.
There must be some incident of ownership present for me to not just take over. When I go to the pool, I wear sandals and a bathrobe, for example, and leave these near the chair.

the upcharge over a std Mini suite for Sept 2024 on Sky was £65+ pp..................
No way is it worth that amount.Never having to wait in line for meals is worth a lot to me. YMMV.

@jinpasco As of today (July 7), we also have NOT be ticketed. We are on Delta out of Minneapolis and also leave on August 16. I'll send my TA a message today.
We are leaving for London the 23d of July. Still not ticketed. Return on August 12 is ticketed. I called Princess and they said not to worry. But I’ll call again soon.

I haven’t been following the threads about the premium desserts but I did try them on this ship. They take 5-15 minutes to get. They gave me a wooden spoon which failed to be adequate for actually eating all of them except for the one with the cheesecake on top. All the others with cakes and cookies were rock hard. The cakes and other stuff stuck inside were also rock hard and really nasty. I tried them all and did not like any of them. I feel bad for anyone who spends $12 on them.
Sounds like they were frozen. That’s just wrong.

Agreed - My Husband is from Alaska but has traveled all over the world - my old boss was from Belfast when he phoned me at work neither could understand a word the other said. Don't judge your fellow travelers too harshly.

Buckingham palace, London eye and Tower are heavily trafficked. Tickets are usually booked way in advance, and not always available. We have already booked ours for a month from now and not all time slots or days were available. Good Luck!

Depending on your timing, the hotels near the pier where the ship will be are in a good area of the City, and near Fisherman’s Wharf. It will be a very short cab ride to the pier. Staying near SFO airport, there is nothing to see or do. There are a couple of decent restaurants near the airport. Try Max’s or Kincaids. But you may need Uber depending on the exact Hotel.

On a good day Monterey is about two hours from SFO dock. Maybe Princess will offer excursions. The aquarium is worth seeing.
