  1. Thanks for the replies. Any extra money will we have go to specialty restaurants and tours instead.
  2. Is the dining room food the same with Britannia Club and Britannia Suite?
  3. This is for a 12 day British Isles cruise in August.
  4. We currently have a Brittania balcony suite booked midship deck 6 with a larger balcony on the Queen Victoria. I just received an offer to bid on an upgrade for about 500.00pp on a Brittania Club suite. Is there any big advantage to upgrading? Or upgrading to a Princess Grill suite for 1200.00pp? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  5. I am in a standard Brittania balcony cabin on the Queen Victoria later this summer. Are there areas and restaurants I am not permitted to visit?
  6. My wife and I now have our cruise on the Queen Victoria booked for August and would like to get everything arranged so we don’t run into any foreseeable issues. This will be my first trip to England and will be a little overwhelming for us. We will probably take a shuttle (appears to the most stress free transportation) from Heathrow to Southampton and to London post cruise. Can anyone recommend a dependable shuttle service? And maybe a hotel near the cruise port? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Thanks. Hopefully weather lets us enjoy the balcony.
  8. Can anyone tell me about balcony room 6090 on Queen Victoria ?
  9. I agree. Was a regular HAL cruiser and also could not make our favourite beverages in our room. A kettle would be a definite plus.
  10. By the way, I’m a Canadian and do enjoy coffee and tea.
  11. So basically instant coffee would be all I could bring myself. Thanks again as this not clear in the Cunard brochures

  13. What exactly are the in room coffee facilities for the Britannia staterooms? Can you bring your own coffee to brew or is a limited pod type coffee maker?

    Food

Actually, one other question. Is the main dining fare friendly towards someone who is lactose intolerant? Is a lot of cream used in their meals?

    Food

I have no idea what Holland America dining is like these days other than they will not be the same as years ago, so am more interested whether passengers on Queen Victoria are generally satisfied and from the comments I see so far, this appears to be the case. Are there dining options, for a charge or otherwise, other than the Brittania dining room or the buffet, if I am not in one of the higher tier rooms?

    Food

Haven’t cruised for about 6 years due to health and world issues and looking at booking a British Isles cruise on the Queen Victoria in 2023. Mainly cruised with Holland America and this would be our first Cunard cruise. I understand there have been many changes in the cruise industry in the last couple of years, and dining is an important part of what I enjoyed previously. So my question is what is the food quality currently in the main dining room (Britannia?) and are there other worthwhile dining venues on ship that are accessible to all passengers (for a charge) and same question - what is the food quality like? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
