That line is total garbage.  Makes no sense.  Manifest only says who to expect.  Doesn't mean you MUST show.  Celebrity is trying to do this to avoid lawsuits from people who have to decide between financial loss or showing up and hoping things go ok.  My folks were due to leave tomorrow and had NO issue whatsoever getting an FCC from Celebrity just for asking.

I agree, but that's the answer I got. Sh*t out of luck they basically said.

I can' find where I saw this. But hope you have sorted now as I have seen 2 other posts on same sailing as you who have managed to obtain FCC.

Just got off the phone, escalated to supervisor, no way to cancel my cruise tomorrow as they've already locked in the manifest to the port authority to PR. I can cancel the flights and get a 70% refund but nothing for the cruise. I don't know how these other people got a FCC?

As is frequently the case CSR people don't know what they are talking about especially when it's an hours old policy.

    https://presscenter.rclcorporate.com/press-release/72/royal-caribbean-group-adopts-ldquocruise-with-confidencerdquo-policy-allowing-cancellations-up-to-48-hours-before-sailing/

The policy applies to all cruises with a sailing date on or before July 31, 2020, and will be offered by the company’s global brands: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Azamara and Silversea. Full details of the “Cruise with Confidence” policy can be found at the respective brand websites.

It would make zero sense to leave customers booked the month of March hung out to dry.

What about someone like me who leaves in 24hrs. I tried cancelling this morning before the announcement and they said no.

I spoke to celebrity today and they are offering 100 percent FCC for cruises booked from April- July.  We are booked on the Edge in April . She said we needed to rebook  within the year or we would loose it. I think that's appropriate. I would call back and speak to someone else.

We are sailing tomorrow. We are at the too bad, too sad period of March 6 - March 31st.

  5. Just tried cancelling for tomorrow's cruise, no FCC or anything. Reason being that there hasn't been a problem in that area (Southern Caribbean). It's all about potential and how this thing has exponentially gotten worse. Can't get refund on plane tickets. Now I have a decision to either lose my 5k and save the potential virus contraction that I could pass on to my toddler and elderly in-laws, or go ahead and have a worry-filled "vacation". I know it's not Celebrity's fault in this but gee, the customer taking the whole burden is brutal.

  6. The crazy thing is, almost everybody has to fly to the port to get on the cruise potentially risking themselves before getting on the cruise ship. So this is saying they're fine with that, not our problem, your risk, but if you have symptoms at time of boarding, you can fly back and contaminate your way home. Just a really crappy way to save face and cover ass.

It's not the thought of contracting COVID-19 it's the reaction that ensues that concerns me - quarantine in a claustrophobic cabin is not for me.  I definitely will not cruise now or in the immediate future until the situation is more clear.

To me, it’s the possibility of infecting my innocent little 2 yr old. Also other loved ones.

  8. We have a cruise leaving the 7th March on the summit leaving San Juan eastern Caribbean cruise. We have a toddler we are leaving behind and now very worried about the turn of events with what’s happening on the cruise ship being denied at Ocho Rios and cayman. It’s not going to be a vacation when we’ll constantly be worried about contracting this, especially the potential infecting of our daughter. If we were to cancel our cruise, would we get refunded or receive credit? Also we have flights by celebrity, upgrade to premium drinks and a tour booked.

    Thank you

Offer ranges were as below, suites were sold out and family verandas are as well now.  I was able to secure a Sweet Sixteen veranda on deck 6 when I called on January 24 for $200 pp and took it.  We’ve never tried one. We'll see what we think soon enough.

    Family Veranda $150 - $400

    How did you manage this??!

I just tried calling to do the same thing and they just offered for me to pay the difference on what the current rate is?!

When you re-price a sailing BEFORE final payment, you will always be moved to the current promotion. In your case, a repricing on the "Sail Plus" (formerly Go Better) perks tier, which I believe you have, since you have two perks currently, would indeed give you four perks. But as others have noted, any additional OBC or other incentives (e.g. a bottle of champagne) you originally received from Celebrity might be removed, so make sure to confirm that before completing the re-pricing. And of course, the latter may also apply if you booked with a TA (i.e. you could have incentives removed), so confirm that as well.

As an example, we received an additional 200$ OBC from Celebrity for our booking back in November, on top of three perks. Those 200$ were not from booking onboard or the like, they were simply a part of the promotion that ran back then. If we re-priced today to the four perks promotion, we would LOSE those 200$ additional OBC, because they were part of the promotion back then, but not part of the current promotion. And at the same time, we would be moved to the current pricing (which all in all would lead to a negative outcome for us, so no thanks). Hopefully this makes sense, and doesn't confuse you even more!

We have paid in full and it's past full-payment date, ours only included CBP & Grats and no other incentives. It is now PBP, $150 OBC, Grats & Unlimited internet. That's a huge increase in perks, over $4-500 worth,  and we wouldn't lose on anything. I'll be calling them today to find out.

  11. So it works out the same price but we got the gratuities and classic beverage package. it's now Premium Beverage Package pp, $150 on board pp, High speed unlimited internet for 2 and the gratuities.
