I can make reservations for MTD in the main dining room, but I'm wondering if I even want to. Our family likes the occasional relaxed meal, but reports of 1.5 to 2 hour dining times and possible waits on Jewel for our upcoming Med cruise is making me wonder if it is worth it to make plans when I have teens. The first night is difficult with trying to get them into the teen open house and evening get-together if they decide to go to those.
We will probably hit Giovanni's on our last sea day and possibly Izumi (sp?) at some point if it works out.
I'd love to hear your experiences with the MDR with meal times, flexibility and teens.
Thanks!

That's actually what I was thinking, as well. I've been reading that tendering into Mykonos is pretty quick. That leaves a couple of hours to explore the town.

Happened to me. Just could not make it work. Completely logged out and logged back in and it worked fine. No idea why.

Hello,
We have chosen to spend a portion of our Mykonos day at the St. John's Resort and they want us to fill out our pickup time in advance.
We are supposed to arrive in Mykonos at 8:00 am and tender in, but there is only one other ship, so as I understand it, we may dock. 50/50. Previous posters have indicated that the resort keeps track of whether the ship docks or tenders and automatically adjusts their pickup location.
What do you think a reasonable pick up time would be, barring a late arrival, which they seem to be aware of.
Thanks!

Thank you for these wonderful videos! We, too, are having a short trip to Venice, and my teenagers are now completely excited to go!!

Excellent! That sounds quite reasonable. Thanks again for the great info!

That's the one! Thanks so much. I couldn't find your post for some reason.

I've recently read a review where someone hired a tour guide that went in with them to the Parthenon. This tour guide also arranged for transportation from the port and I think the day included time for the Plaka and the museum. If you know of a tour that does this, can you let me know the company? I can't seem to locate the review.
Thanks.

Quick correction: 10% discount!

Thanks for the confirmation! I just wanted to be sure before I booked. I was torn between them and Romecabs but Bob's has a 20% discount for paying with PayPal, so I wanted to take advantage of that.

I've actually read it here on these boards and seen disclaimers on several transfer websites about it. Apparently there are a limited number of companies that are allowed to take you to the ship itself. I just want to be sure that is the case with Bob's Limos. I've read reviews about them but haven't been able to find that information yet. Hoping to hear from someone who has used them.

I understand that most transfer services and cabs just drop off at the shuttle station at the port where you can catch the bus. I know that Romecabs are licensed to drop their passengers off at the pier itself, which is preferable. I am also looking at Bob's Limo, which is also romelimousines, and I was wondering if they are also authorized to drop at the pier? Or just the shuttle stop?
If I'm going to pay for a transfer, I want one to take us all of the way there and not have to wait for a shuttle.

Notes and/or phones messages in the room. Agree on a pre-arranged spot to meet.
We have the kids in one room and we are in the one next door. We could do post its on the door but they might fall off.

Thanks, I think we will do the two device option, as suggested. At least it's a small ship!

Hello,
We are cruising on Jewel in June to the Greek Islands. My kids (13 and 16) would like some freedom on board to roam at will. I would like them to be able to text me as to their whereabouts when they are wandering.
Is Voom the only option, and do I have to have 4 devices on it (myself, DH, and kids)? Also is the price quoted (I think $47 for 4 devices) per day? $350ish dollars is quite a bit for just staying in touch on the ship, if so.
Any brilliant ideas out there that I'm not aware of?
Thanks for any info.

Hi,
First time cruiser and we have booked FOS for the 8th May 2011. We are in cabin 8514 on deck 8 is this any good?
We're booking that room for the 12/11 5 nighter. It was $40 more than a standard oceanview and seemed to have quite a bit more space. I hope the rocking doesn't bother us too much. We haven't had too many nausea problems in the past.
Has anyone done a 5 night western on the freedom? I don't think they do that one very often, but if you have any info/compasses, it would be much appreciated!
Main Dining Room-worth the hassle and inflexibility with teens?

Okay, I'm convinced. I will make the reservations. I guess I can always cancel them if plans change. Thanks for the input.
