  1. Shout out to Royal Caribbean.  And thanks Cruise Critic.  Comments on Cruise Critic said to email the CEO if we had unusual problems.  My father passed away with a $250 FCC from previous cancelled attempts at a family cruise during COVID.  I emailed the CEO and the very next morning I got a phone call from Corporate Offices with condolences and they put the FCC on our upcoming family cruise (in memory of my deceased father).  It couldn't be refunded to the credit card because it's been cancelled.  PS I am the Personal Rep and gave them the death certificate and my PR paperwork.  Very happy with the results.

  2. The posts are correct about Grand Turk being a beach.  However, Amber Cove has a fantastic FREE pool.  Clean.  Restrooms.  Food & drinks to purchase.  Kids splash area.  Zip line.  Big slide.  Lifeguards.  Free beach chair use; and some shade.  I love Amber Cove.  Amber Cove's pool is similar to the pool on CocoCay.

  3. FYI: Embarkation Port Canaveral Carnival Freedom.  We arrived at 11:45 am.  The first wait was 15 minutes in line to show health documentation. There were 15 workers taking health verification. Very efficient.  We used VeriFLY.   They also ask if you had symptoms or contact in the last 14 days. Then we spent 10 min in the metal detector line.  About five lanes open.  Last spent 5 min in customer service line to double check our photo and IDs.  There were 21 customer service worker windows.  All efficient. Total time to board 30 min.  When they check you as you walk onto the gangway they double check your boarding pass against your photo.  Rooms open at 1:30. All friendly workers.  They told us that disembark will use facial ID and it will go fast.

  4. FYI:  I cancelled my family's February 13th sailing today.  It was so helpful that someone on these Cruise Critic boards mentioned that the RC current Final Payment Date is only 30 days out now (not 90). Because of that, this was an easy process. I will get cash back to the credit card for the bulk of the charges.  I got Future Cruise Credit for the non-refundable deposit because it was already in a Future Cruise Credit from 2019.    I did not have to mention protocols.

  5. First of all, there's no bad place on Coco Cay.  The entire facility is incredible.  For many years we went there (before Perfect Day) and spent the whole day on what is now South Beach.  It's a slow incline in the water and is wonderfully calm and warm.  It's still the same.  As grandparents with grandkids in tow we loved the Perfect Day wave pool which is inside the waterpark.  Outside the waterpark is the children's pirate ship.  And the Oasis Lagoon Pool is clean, and large, with plenty of seating, and plenty of room for everyone.  It's all good.  One thing we did was to spend the morning in the waterpark and then the afternoon on South Beach relaxing.  One other hint:  check out the food at different locations on the island.  It's not all the same.

  6. Good news!  I easily got a refund from Royal Caribbean for my May 28th's Vancouver to Alaska Radiance of the Sea sailing.  I called the main Royal Caribbean number, and choose option #2 "Questions about a Future Cruise."  Shoutout to "Will" who helped me. No waiting on the phone.  He answered right away.  (on a Wednesday afternoon.)  In less that three minutes he cancelled our two rooms, and told me which credit card our refund would appear on (in 30 days).  I opted for the refund instead of the Future Cruise Credit (FCC) because this Alaska cruise was more expensive than what we will spend on next year's planned cruise to the Bahamas. Yeeahhh!
