Here is a controversial statement for you. I would say your statement is more a reflection of a bad person, than the person who you are trying to shame
Here's something controversial - each person is entitled to his/her own opinion and differing views don't make either a bad person. Have a nice day!🙂

I may have worded that incorrectly ., I meant former customers that haven’t cruised with them in over a year. I book an average of once a month with Princess and never got the letter. It would be nice to be appreciated for that but seems to go to customers to lure them back onboard more often.
I do appreciate the onboard experience so a, going to just say that’s enough .. but it still would be nice to get a loyalty perk once in a while, especially now the loyalty credit is no longer in place.
I am not going to let $50 sway me one way or another, though.
No - you were fine. I was just trying to be funny....unsuccessfully!!!

To offer that $50 to bring old customers back but not giving it to loyal customers does kind of irk me. I know, it is all in marketing but still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I'm not an "old" customer (pretty young, in fact). However, I never intended to "leave" Princess. As such, I got the letter but am a current customer.😁

At the end of the day, I have to give Princess credit for what it did. I mean, I didn't expect any OBC, nor did I ask for it. I just wanted the elevator fixed and Princess did that. Now - my daughter has an extra $50 to spend in the shops (she likes the ship models). So, I thank them for the nice gesture (they didn't have to).

Just find a private excursion that allows people your age. Your age is in the system and it knows how old you are. Moreover, lying is never the way to go. Just book your own excursion - without the age limit.

$50 obc per state room/ cabin is ridiculous in my opinion. Since Princess is not very Solo friendly at the very least offer $50 per passenger in the cabin .
So for those of you that received these letters, what amount would be reasonable to get you to come back to Princess? I have cruised Princess the most, but have not cruised for quite awhile just because… So I’m not necessarily a Princess cheerleader .I’m open to all cruise lines, so I’m just curious. Or would no amount be satisfactory ?
I received it and have a cruise coming up this Fall. Had no intention of quitting Princess at all - just wanted the elevator fixed - which they did while I was onboard (it kept closing on people when they stepped over the threshold). I told my daughter she can use the extra $50 to buy something for herself in one of the shops.

And I just checked my Princess account and - yep - that $50 is there!

$50 FCC is embarrassing. Probably better not to offer anything.
I didn't even want any money. I just wanted the elevator fixed. I do have a cruise later this year. We'll see if it's applied to my account....

I got one, too. I had submitted a complaint about a malfunctioning elevator (did this while I was on my last cruise in 2022) and was told it was resolved and the elevator was fixed. I wonder if this letter was sent in error?

Don't know how old your daughter is or even if Princess still does this, but they used to have a Junior Chef program (my daughter did this on two different cruises) where there were each given full sized cakes and then were free to decorate with whatever icing toppings, etc. they wanted. My daughter really like it and Princess delivered the finished cake to our cabin. It could be sort of cool for her to decorate her own cake, etc. (if Princess still does this).

Is the payment on your Amex to Princess or your travel agent? If Princess, you're all set. If it's to the travel agent, I would go into my account on Princess.com and check and, possibly, call Princess directly and have them confirm they are in receipt of your money. The only thing that matters is that Princess has received your money.

And no casinos. 😉
I've been on two Disney cruises (Fantasy & Magic) and, trust me, there are insufferable people (both kid and adults who act like kids) on that cruise line, too. Kids running up and down the halls, slamming doors, hogging the pools, etc. Just because people pay, on average, much more for their Disney cruise fare doesn't mean they possess more class.

The drinks portion of the Plus/Premier package already has drink gratuities calculated into it, I meant to write.
-
The answer is YES - you have paid for gratuities when you bought the Plus/Premier package. No need to tip extra unless you want to.

Am I missing something here? Aren't we already paying for tips in the package? If yes, then I understand extra tipping for amazing service, etc., but if I'm already tipping 18% why would bartenders expect more (unless they are truly exceptional, etc.)?

So bizarre two years later. Have fun on your Virgin cruise.

I realize that, I was responding to someone who suggested that she sue these people as well.
Ahhh - sorry 'bout that!

How are her lawyers going to get the principals of the crewing agency from the Philippines to a court in the US? How likely is a Filipino crew member to have personal liability insurance, and while he may be physically in the US for a criminal trial and incarceration, forcing an insurance company (if there is one) in the Philippines to pay up would be difficult.
Injured passenger won't need any of that as her suit will be against Norwegian. She doesn't need to go after the Filipino agency. It will be Norwegian's insurance company that will pay out.

Since both of these are in the Philippines, she won't likely get anything there.
No - she'll get it from Norwegian. No need to go after the small fry.

Are you sure about that? The cruise ships are not American and I'm not sure people have many "rights" to sue like they would in the USA and other countries. I think they protect themselves very, very well from litigation, and there are not the lawsuits for wrongful death, assault, rape, etc., that maybe there should be.
Not an expert, and definitely not a lawyer, but they protect themselves from so much liability it would not surprise me if we are all signing away lawsuit rights.
Nah - she'll receive a generous settlement.

From all the media reports I have seen, NO ONE was seriously hurt or needed off ship medical attention.
A customer was stabbed multiple times. You bet she's going to receive substantial - and justified - compensation.

Crazy stuff can happen anywhere. Hopefully everyone is OK at the end of the day. I wonder if the woman passenger will get a free cruise.
She'll get much more than that.

Bottom line is when we're on a cruise, staff/crew/consultants, etc. are acting on apparent authority from Princess (unless expressly indicated otherwise) and will/should be treated as such if anything happens.

No update to give.
Based upon the timeframe they themselves set, Princess Promotions has about 12 hours to call my dad back . . . and, for most of that time, it will be the middle of the night in our time zone.
I really wouldn't hold my breath. I would escalate to someone with decision making authority at Princess. I also would craft a detailed email (or other type of communication) and have it at the ready. I would ask my parents if the consultant thoroughly explained to them the consequences of giving their credit card to him, etc. I would put these details in the email/letter, etc.

I would read your policy and determine whether missed ports are covered (with or without substituting ports). If your policy reflects that an originally scheduled port - missed - but substituted with another is covered, I'd absolutely file a claim!
