  1. Thanks for all the non smart ass replies I appreciate them!

I always pack snacks, peanuts, sealed bag of pretzels, mini wrapped chocolates. Mints. Just like to nibble when on my balcony. I put them in the luggage that goes through never with a problem on many cruises.

  2. I have been any many Carnival cruises, but booked the Grandeur last Feb, because it sails out of Baltimore. I was not disappointed. Food was good, crew grew at, enjoyed the shows and aerial show. Liked it so much we are cruising on the Grandeur this coming Feb, western Cribbean this time. Looking forward to being on the ship. A cruise is what you make it. Enjoy your cruise,

  3. May I add some additional info here about this area. Hopefully I am not jumping in too early here as you may be posting more later.

JiJi and Cucina del Capitano are back here also.

At lunch, JiJi has a line very similar to Monogolian Wok on other ships where you choose your noodles and veggies choices and the chefs will add your meat or seafood and sauce of choice and then cook it fresh for you.

On other side, at Cucina del Capitano, you are given a list of choices of pasta, sauce and ingredients. You mark your choices, hand the sheet in and your dish is made fresh for you. They also have Caesar salad and bread available here.

JiJi and Cucina del Capitano are extra fee venues for dinner for $15pp. Worth the extra fees.

I agree that it is much easier to find room here to eat. Many times, if we chose food from the buffet, we brought our food to meet and eat with our friends.

What is the charge for lunch?

  4. can someone tell me which 2 nights are the formal nights on the Pride's 10/31/15 8 day sailing?

also, any word on the HUB app date for Pride? I know that one statement said by end of this year. was hoping for a more specific date.

    Thanks

Yes first sea day Sunday nov 1st and Friday nov 6th the first sea day coming home.

  5. I will be sailing on the Pride and arriving back in Baltimore on the 31st. Hoping to "rally the troops" so Carnival will have some type of celebration BEFORE Halloween. I will be sailing with my 12 daughter, 7 and 10 year old grandchildren. They are really disappointed they won't be getting to wear their costumes.

We are sailing on the Pride on Oct 26th but doing a b2b and staying in the Pride. Our 1st b2b

  6. We stayed in 8539 in Feb 2015 and loved the room. It had plenty of storage space and I just loved the view from the sofa. Only complaint is the did not wash our windows the whole cruise. I fell and broke my foot and ankle the first day of the cruise so I did spend a lot of time in the cabin icing my foot. Stay in that area was awesome.

  7. Hi we're leaving for our cruise next friday. Never been on Grandeur, and have only been to their private island in Bahamas. What did you do in Nassau? What do you mean by too "Formal" ? Also i heard people complain the beds on Grandeur are uncomfortable. Are they really?

We're going to be in a an Ocean view on deck 2. Thanks and can't wait to read your review.

Was on the grandeur in Feb 2015, thought the beds were very comfortable

  8. We were on Granduer in Feb 2015 love the ship but was not impressed with the park cafe or the serving staff there. Our first day aboard, I fell and broke my ankle, had to be in wheelchair for whole cruise. After seeing Dr and getting wheel chair, all eating venues were closed except Park Cafe. All the had was small dry sandwich, served on dinner roll or dry frozen pizza. We tried for room service but it was closed, due to noro, on the cruise before us. There was no information at all in our room, and guest service were not helpful to us at all. Did not impress me on our first Rccl cruise. The rest of cruise was good and room steward and windjammer crew awesome. I booked for Fed 2016 to give Rccl another chance, but will not eat in park cafe

  9. I keep a journal log of all our cruises and vacations starting with our first in 2002 on carnival Fantasy. I write daily happenings, ports of call and food I loved. I include pictures then when it is complete. I bind bin into a book. When I am in tween cruises I just pull out one of my journal books to keep me going. It's a nice way to especially remember ports of call and different friends we make on each cruise.

  10. I booked an OV deck 3 with my PPP this week and yes they are selling fast. Only 2 cruises out of NYC. Cove balconies are also selling fast. Just check the decks, deck 2 will be a lot of families. First time on a brand new ship.

  11. Just got off March 3rd from 28 days on the Grandure. We have had better food overall. The lobster was good. Steak was ok. Shrimp cocktail was very good. Wind Jammer food was just fair and the assortment was lacking. Hope you like bread pudding a lot in the wind jammer. The Hors d oeuvres were quite good in the Diamond lounge and the Concierge lounge available from 4:30 pm to 8 pm, Refreshments are free during these times if you qualify in the lounges. A new feature is 3 free drinks per person if you qualify during 4:30 pm to 8 pm. the 3 free drinks are automaticily put on your Sea Pass card, if you qualify. The 3 free drinks can not be used in the Casino, Theater, or Dining room, or Wind Jammer. all other lounges are ok. The breakfast in the wind jammer starts at 6:30 am for early risers. coffee was available of the pool deck all night on both sides up close to the wind jammer. Park Cafe is a very good breakfast spot at 8 am, also lunches there, are good with Soup,Salads and Sandwiches. Park Cafe is located in the Solarium area on Deck 9. Hope you have a great time. Yes we had 2 ft snow drifts in Baltimore on Deck 10 and snow covered the upper decks., I forgot breakfast in the dining room was ok except for the potato's. they always over grilled the spuds, pass on the dining room breakfast spuds. We are Diamond+,This is my first stab at cruise critic, enjoy, Bill or mrbozzie@comcast.net

    Hi Bill and Linda

Hope you enjoyed you 28 day trip. This is Sandy and Bob your table mates from your first part of your back to back. I will email you the pictures I lost your email address.

  12. Thanks for the information from those who have been in 4K rooms. My PVP said there wasn't any difference between 4122 and 4123 except that they were on the opposite sides of the ship so I just picked one. It looks like they both have pretty good views for a 4K. We went on 2 cruises in January but are now back in the bitter cold with only the first stage of our furnace working. We are waiting on parts for the second stage that kicks on when it gets really cold so we keep layers of clothes on in the house. I keep thinking that for the price of the furnance repair and the new springs to open the garage door this week, we could have booked an interior on a cruise. Oh well, guess we will just have to wait until October for our cruise to Bermuda and hope for warmer weather (and furnace repair) at home. Thank goodness we have a gas fireplace and a kerosene heater.

We will be on that cruise also the beginning of our b2b and have a 4k

  13. I got a e=mail from Dr.Trevino this evening checking up on Larry & asking how I was.

Such a sweet guy & so thoughtful.

    Char

Wow We are regular CC platinum cruisers, but decided to book RCL Grandeur out of Baltimore when Pride left. That being said, I fell and broke my left ankle and foot the first day on cruise other than free med care and use of wheelchair I never heard from Dr again on a 10 day cruise. Only heard from guest services the day after. Thought that was odd. It took so long in infirmary and to get wheelchair we never got to eat that night.

Glad to know CC are more concerned

  14. We have been on both and enjoyed both ships. Each has pro's and con's. The food is better on the Pride especially the deli, pizza and guys burger. The entertainment e

Is better on the Grandeur, the shows and they still have live bands. A steel band greets you when you board.

Both have great friendly crews. The cabins interior,ov and balcony are larger on the Pride.

I would go for the ports. I liked both half moon cay and Labadee their private islands.n

We have a b2b on Pride in Oct 2015 and a 10 day Grandeur western Carbbean in Feb 2016 booked.

If you have not been to Grand Truk that is a nice port with great beaches.

  15. Welcome to the new generation of cruising!

Also, it is not the cruise lines responsibility to get you to your car. If you needed assistance you would of had to ask the staff at the port once off the ship. Port staff is not employed by the cruise lines.

We did and was told none was available. We were also told by "guest services" that yea I would have a wheelchair available to the terminal door. Did not happen. So we did check out all options
