  1. I was sailing with my 23 year old son; we arrived as the party was ending. Three of the senior officers greeted us, and offered us drinks, etc.; even though the party was,in effect, over. They chatted with us for quite a while, and were very gracious. This is one of the reasons why I think that the crew of the Miracle goes above and beyond what is expected and/or required. Have fun.
  2. I don't think that you will be disappointed. Don't miss the repeat cruisers party. Be sure to talk to some of the senior officers at the party. They are a very nice group of professionals. Good luck.
  3. Carnival does get trashed too often. I used to be one of the Carnival bashers. I was a total snob about the cruiseline. I sailed The Legend in 2003...too glitzy for me. Then I sailed the Miracle(because it was the only 6-9 day cruise from Tampa at the time) and became a Carnival convert. The ship is beautiful, the service and food are excellent. I'd do it again in a minute.
  4. Sandi: here I am again. I sailed the Legend in 2003; I prefer the Miracle. Both ships, however are in the same class, which is very important on Carnival. Have fun. I was born and bred in NY. Diane
  5. Sandi: Sorry to be such a nuisance. Caribbean Princess has very good pricing out of Ft. Lauderdale on the April 29th sailing. You can probably get a good fare from NY/Newark to FLL if you shop around. Diane
  6. Sandi: I just checked the rates for the Crown P next May...they're too high. Look into the Miracle. I was in a balcony cabin, Empress Deck. There was not too much choice in cabin selection, since we booked at the last minute. I think you'll love the Miracle.. Good luck. Diane
  7. Sandy: I would sail the Miracle out of NYC. It's a wonderful cruise: very good food, atmosphere, entertainment and service. I sailed it from Tampa in May,'06. I sailed Caribbean Princess in August: not nearly as good as the Miracle. Got a great rate on a mini-suite , but the food and service were mediocre. Have you registered with Princess on its website? After I registered, they e-mailed me a special introductory rate code, which is how I got the good deal. However, you may be able to get a good rate on the Miracle at this point in time. In both cases, I booked directly with the Cruiseline...by phone. Do lots of searches on-line. Be wary of un-known TAs. Good luck. Let us know what you decide. Diane
  8. The performer (singer/Keyboardist) in the casino on the Miracle is excellent. But sll of the performers on the Miracle are great.
