I am currently on Aurora and have booked the internet for the whole cruise for one device. Access can only be from one device at a time (obviously) but if you try to log on from a different device, it asks whether you want to disconnect the device logged on. If so, it disconnects the other device so you can log on.

Pete is starlink on aurora yet ? I’m going on Friday dec 1st. Hope cruise is good and aurora is all ok ?

So, I’m confused about this because when I try and buy the package at £134.40 and click on 2 devices under my husband’s name (but zero device under my own name) it’s doubling the cost to £255.

So, am I correct that if I click one device only, my husband and I can both use our phones and I pads as long as we are not logged on at the same time?

Yes correct - just get it for one device / person and both use it at different times. Make sure you log off on one device before using the other one.

Yes, we wanted aisle seats and saw some for 40ish pounds each  and then booked in row 12 front seats and they were 93.00 each. We did not realise that some seats are free. My husband must have an aisle seat as he is disabled and cannot be hemmed in. We are also on a waiting list for the extra leg room seats  as p&o said that there may be some cancellations. We were not aware at the time of booking that you have to be quick to get extra leg room seats.

Better seats go very quickly - especially on long haul. I thought that would be obvious.

  4. They should have been kicked off the ship at the first available port and banned for life from P&O and prosecuted for hate crime.

Zero tolerance with scum like that.

Why should Gareth have had to move cabins ? Ridiculous. They should have been moved pending offload.

My wife sadly unexpectedly passed away recently and we had two future cruises booked one in Sept 2024 and one in June 2025. I informed P&O of the sad news and that I wished to cancel both cruises. I have been told that I can not get a refund on the deposits paid even under these sad circumstances they were very unsympathetic and just treated me like a booking number, not a person

Very sad - sorry for your loss - must be terrible.

There should be an exception made for bereavement - this is just not right.

When we were on board recently the staff said that it's mostly work on the engine etc and lots of painting. Not sure what's being done in other areas. Many of the crew were excited to be going home although lots were staying on board. They said they would be painting and cleaning but they would be staying in the cabins and eating in the dining rooms

    Nice crew on that ship.

cabins need refurbishing - our bathroom was worn out and smelt of sewerage !

broken drawers and cup holder in the bathroom came off in our hands !!

We enjoyed the cruise though - it was great to see Slovenia - really nice place.

We have been several times on explorer 2 and always liked it - but we won’t go again until it’s done up a bit.

  7. Does anyone know the extent of explorer 2 dry dock / refurb ?
It’s in dry dock Cadiz I believe at the moment.

We were on the Adriatic affair cruise recently and it definitely needs doing up in some areas.

The crew said it was going into dry dock after our cruise but didn’t know what was being done.

I think the next cruise is Nov 26 transatlantic.

Thanks Molecrochip - How do you know this ? It’s not mentioned on the P&O site ?

I am on aurora dec 1st this year and the 15% discount is shown - so does that mean starlink will be live on aurora for that cruise ?

PS I’m surprised they offer 2 options given it might be starlink - I would have thought that would be high speed for all ? Grateful for any info.

The 15% offer is funded by Starlink as part of the roll out. You need to book by 31/10 but applies for any cruise where Starlink should be deployed.

    Hi Everyone - final update.

I emailed the chief exec this weekend with full details of everything that has happened over the past weeks and years.

Within 24 hours I received a phone call from his complaint team, promising a full investigation and with an offer of compensation.  Followed up by an email

Whilst this has not restored my faith in TUI, and I shouldn't have had to escalate to this level, the apology did feel, at least, genuine and the offer of an investigation into failure seemed real.

Well done. Thanks for the update.

  11. What if I want to connect with a different device?

You may use multiple devices on one package but can only use a single device at any one time. If you wish to use multiple devices simultaneously, you will need to buy additional packages that are available at a discounted rate.

We have pre booked several times. You pre book a cabin grade and when booking opens, they guarantee you a cabin in that grade. If you prefer a different one, you can contact them and they will move you to where you want to be. It has worked very well.

Thanks Pete-so you just phone up and request the specific cabin later ?

is it worth it rather than just waiting for the general release a week or so later and getting the cabin number at time of booking ?

  13. Yes but it also creates a local WiFi network that the other device connects to - it’s been good speed when I have done it on a ship in port connected to 4G and my wife’s phone connected to my hotspot.

With the ships Wi-Fi it’s probably too slow unless it’s starlink - but technically I think it would work ?
Unless it’s blocked somehow by P&O service but I don’t see how it could “see” that you are using your phone as a hotspot.

Does anyone know P&O wifi will allow you to share with another device using your phone as a personal hotspot?

I don’t see why not - hotspot is local to both your devices and uses Bluetooth / local WiFi to transmit data from the device on WiFi to the other device and vice versa.

Also you can both use one WiFi package - but not at the same time - so it can be shared like this as well.

  15. Pre-book 10th October and general release about a week later 17th - that’s what travel agents are saying online.

Has anyone here ever pre-booked ?
I looked at this once but could only select cabin grade and not a specific cabin ?
Can this be selected later ?

    Is it worth it ?

Hi, I've just posted an update before I read your message.  I did show the emails to the team, they weren't interested.  No one seems to be.  I have an email address I'm going to try and put the whole sorry issue down on there.  In the update I said I do understant that things happen but it's the lack of empathy and the blatant dishonesty that has upset me more than anything. I will not use TUI again.

Well our stop in Ravenna was a Sunday. We got up and the weather wasn't good, high winds and cloudy so we decided to stay on board. I must point out though, we had expected to be docked in an industrial port but this wasn't the case. The town was 30 mins away and we could see cranes etc in the distance but we were actually docked between 2 very long beaches. We couldn't access the one to the right as it looked as though it belonged to a camping site but you could walk through the port gates to a ferry that cost 1 euro and took you to a marina and then to a beach. There were sunbeds although they weren't in use due to the weather.  In the afternoon the sun came out and we sat on deck with a pleasant view over the marina.

Although we didn't go ashore, we were surprised with the pleasant surroundings

Thanks - going there in a couple of weeks - did they have a shuttle bus into the town ?
