  1. Yes, I knew that ahead of time and did bring my own remote.

Hi! How did you program the remote? We brought a remote and even managed to change the inputs on the TV on Explorer back in Sep. No matter what we did we could not get the TV to register the fact we had an HDMI cable attached. We could not figure it out for the life of us and neither could the stateroom attendant who even brought in the Samsung remote!

  2. This was a new TV, there were 3 hdmi ports. I am going to assume Harmony will have the same kind of TV. The person that mentioned hotel mode.... I have a feeling it was that. Even though you could change the inputs, the hdmi ports were still blocked. Whats funny... the usb port was active and working. We wanted to stream netflix but were unsuccessful.

  3. Hello,

My wife and I were recently on the Explorer for a B2B.(Sep 23-Oct 8) We were fortunate to have one of the new deck 12 rooms that were added on during the last drydock. That being said, this room had a Samsung TV and our goal was to able to stream, via HDMI from my mMacbook pro to the TV.

We brought a universal remote and was able to pair it to the tv... sort of. The remote turned the volume up/down and was able to turn the tv on/off.

We also had the room steward bring in the original remote and was able to the tv to change the hdmi ports and were able to get into the general menu. We discovered, the "data" cable needed to be unplugged as well. We also discovered, at the back of the tv, at the bottom left side was a button that was able to control the tv the same way the remote could.

Here is the problem. We had a brand new hdmi cable and laptop hooked up to the tv, although no picture and no sound was able to be seen/heard. The TV said that no connection was there, although there clearly was.

We will be sailing on Harmony for a B2B in Jan/Feb 2017 and really want to be able to get this to work in order to stream from the MacBook to the TV. One would assume that the set up will be the same as these were new rooms/tv's on Explorer and of course Harmony will be new.

Can someone please explain what in the world we did wrong? (we got home and tested the connection on our Samsung tv here and it worked fine)

I look forward to any and all assistance.

    Thanks,

    Steve & Jen

  4. Parking around Seattle is very expensive.

If you're staying at a hotel, google SeaTac stay and park hotels.

There are other options but it's time and hassle to save a few bucks , ie park at an off airport lot (30 minutes south), take Uber or flatratetaxi to/from the pier for $35 each way.

We are driving down from east of Vancouver BC on the day of the cruise.

  5. Hello. We are leaving on Sep 23 for a B2B on Explorer. We are driving down from BC. The cruise will be leaving Pier 91. The only info I can get on parking in Seattle for a cruise is the 2 paring lots at the pier however the pricing on that is ridiculous. Does anyone have any other ideas for parking in the area?

  6. Hello. Hope all is well. I have seen a few posts about MIA to Port Everglades but nothing really on the other way.

What does it cost to take the cruise ship shuttle from the port to MIA. We are sailing in Feb 2017 which is a long way away but we are just trying to figure out flights, etc.

Also, what would be safe flight time out of MIA. (We would be flying to Vancouver so it will be a long day and would like to get to Vancouver at a civil time)

    Thanks!

  7. Hello. I am looking for a shuttle than can take my wife and I from the Hilton Newark Penn Station to Cape Liberty on Jan 3 and then from Cape Liberty to EWR on Jan 15. I have searched the forums and people rave about Dial7 & Carmelimo.

Is there a shuttle service like PrimeTime (in LA) or Super Shuttle? A shared van type of thing?

I look forward to any help anyone can offer!

    Thanks!

  8. We figured PATH from the Penn Station to and from. We thought we would leave around 9am and hang out in NYC and then sleep will be not an option on NYE with the millions of people trying to get out of Times Square. Does that sound about right? (We have never done this before)

  9. Hello,

DW and I are leaving on Anthem on Sun Jan 3. We are staying at the Hampton Inn at the airport and will be there for 4 days prior to the cruise (NYE in Times Square = bucket list item)

What would be the best, economical way to get from the Hampton to Bayonne?

We will then be arriving back to Bayonne (From Anthem) on Thur Jan 14.

What is the most economical way to get to EWR from the port? Our flight does not leave till 6pm so time is not a factor.

    Thanks for your help!

  10. Thanks for the help and advice. Our rental car is $149 for 3 days so not too bad I think. We are using Alamo. Being from the west coast, 6am is not gonna be nice... But we will have been in FL for 2 full days so hopefully the jet lag will be gone by then. Fingers crossed anyways.

  11. Hello,

Hope all is well. DW and I will be travelling from Orlando on Sunday Jan 25 to board the Allure for a B2B. We cannot wait. We are from Vancouver Canada and will be staying in Orlando for 2 days prior to the cruise.

All that being said, we are renting a car in Orlando and returning the car to FLL and then cabbing it from FLL to the port on the Sunday morning. We have 2 questions:

    1. What time should we leave Orlando to be at the ship by say 11am? (MCO>FLL>Port)

    2. What is the best route to get from Orlando to FLL? I95 or the Turnpike?

We look forward to any assistance.

    Thanks!

  12. Hello,

I am trying to make a payment on royalcaribbean dot com. When I go to make the payment, I enter my cc# and it says the below:

"The country of residency previously selected is not the same as the country in the billing address below. Please verify that you selected the correct country. If so, you may still browse the site but you will not be able to complete the reservation."

Here is the thing... everything on my reservation, billing, etc, says Canada. Actually there is one area where is says Can but Can stands for Canada.

Anyone have any ideas to as why I cannot pay online?

    Thank you for your help!
