Try putting in the wrong zip code for your town, or pick one nearby. You can edit it later.  Also now that you’re checked in you may have better luck since your info is loaded. BTW if you have status anywhere - hotel, airline, cruises, but weirdly not casinos, you can match it and get a better starting point for the club. Silver doesn’t do much, but gold gets a few nice perks, and diamond gives you lots of good stuff.

SB is good. Not as great as it could have been if Mayor/Secretary Pete had stuck around, but still growing and revitalizing.  I moved here from Michigan in 2000. When were you here?

I moved there in the mid 90's. I left in 2007. I'm in the Virgin Islands now. It's funny, many people don't realize it's part of the US. I visited South Bend in 2012, and so much had already changed. I can't imagine the changes now.

The US website is indeed terrible, as is the app. Try signing up for VC without being logged in.  Try signing up logged into the European site or UK site.

You can also email MSCVoyagersClub@msccruisesusa.com and after several days they will look into the issue and reply. Just got an email about fixing the second account (with no diamond status or vc membership at all) the casino agent booked me under. They figured out that she  had entered my DOB incorrectly, and that caused the divergence. Also my address (indan instead of Indiana, adv instead of ave) and a few other bits, but it was the dob that screwed everything up.

    good luck!

The problem is the way the address form is set up. You enter your Zip Code, and it automatically fills in the City and State. But it does not recognize my zip code, so it just says "error retrieving address". And it does not give me the option of typing in my city and state. So, I'm stuck at that point and can not proceed.

I have emailed them, at MSCVoyagersClub@msccruisesusa.com, explaining this, even including a screen capture showing the error. But when they reply, they simply give me a link back to the same page. 🤦‍♂️

I had the same issue trying to check in, but I was able to talk to someone, and they entered the information for me. There's no one to talk to at the voyagers club. They operate using email only.

I had the same problem applying for a Brazil visa, so it's not just MSC, but I've never had this problem with Carnival or Royal Caribbean!

BTW, how is South Bend these days? I used to live there years ago.

  3. I am sailing on MSC Seaview in 2 weeks. It will be my first time on MSC. I'm trying my best to keep an open mind.

The website has been a nightmare. I still can't sign up for the voyager club. I've emailed them multiple times. I called customer service and they said I had to send an email. 🤷‍♂️

But I will still try to keep an open mind when I get onto the ship.

One of the things people seem to complain about is the food. I've never been impressed with the food on any cruise. But that's because I'm not a foodie. For me, the difference between a 5-star restaurant and a burger joint is that one is a lot more expensive. So I think I'll be fine there. 😂

  4. @suometar The problem is the way the form is set up. I enter my zip code and push the search button, but it finds nothing, because the virgin islands just isn't in their database, and there's no way for me to type it in. I went through the same problem applying for a Brazilian visa. It took weeks of daily emails before they added it.

Hi @actuarian. When I tried online there were no choices for embarkation time…a very late 4-5 pm !! Same time available when I called, even though it was less than 30 minutes after  check in opened. I asked to change it to an earlier time but was told she couldn’t…but, that if I was sailing with friends who had an earlier check in time…I could join them 🤔!! Others on CC have said they really don’t enforce the check in times. Hope that’s true.

@brucevr6 Same with me, no choice on check-in time. Are you on Seaview too? This whole check-in process is awful. I couldn't even enter my address on the website. And trying to take a photo in the app was a complete waste of time.

  6. Gawd, MSC website and app are the absolute worst. I can't even enter my address at the start of the check-in process. It doesn't recognize my zip code. And there is no way for me to type in my City and State.

I called them and they manually entered my address and issued my ticket and luggage tags. But, because I didn't complete the check-in online, I can't add any packages. They don't even show up as options.

Now I'm trying to take a photo with the app. It told me my face needs to be more illuminated. 😐🤬 What, I need to bleach my face? And there wasn't even a button to take the photo anyway.

  7. Ugh...as soon as I paid my deposit on a cruise, the website stopped working on my desktop computer. I get this. But it works on my phone. I've rebooted my computer, restarted the browser and cleared the cache.

If FOD,  once but no longer used, was considered a code, then what is the word "Gay"?  And labelling us like a bowl of alphabet soup isn't much of an improvement.  Upon noticing my multi colour breast pocket handkerchief, a passenger once asked "And what letter are you?

I don't identify with Dorothy, but I also don't like the ever expanding letter combo. I wish there was one simple inclusive term that everyone could just agree with.

  9. I agree, it would be helpful if there was someone to lead the lead/coordinate the meeting. It can be intimidating to show up at the Alchemy bar and not know if the 2 guys sitting there are there for the LGBT meetup or if they are going to insult you. On 2 previous cruises, I passed by the bar, but didn't stop. This past May, I was on Conquest and made it a point to speak with whomever was there. This did lead to a rather hilarious exchange with a group of str8 guys who wanted to know which of them I would pick.
