Hi there all, question please. We are cruising b2b at end of the month.(actually next week 😱) Quantum. 9 nights South Pacific then 7 nights Qland coast. I know about the rat test prior to boarding but this is about the 2nd cruise and what is done onboard prior. I have heard conflicting information as to what happens Re rat test as from what I can gather different ships have different procedures in place. Is it correct that on our last day we go to medical centre and get a rat done and if positive, off the ship in the morn and no 2nd cruise? thanks heaps in advance 😃

Thanks everyone. All sorted. They did send documentation with details/receipts but went to my T/A. And for people wondering why I got. If I wanted to get cash for casino or whatever it was about 66c thru travel ex or Aus post etc (to take cash) . if I put on c/card and got bank to convert it is anywhere between 66-68c and thru Rccl I got 69c .. (no c/c fees or anything) not much difference I know but so much easier just to make the call and it’s then on there for when we cruise. If we don’t spend they will credit it back to my card on which I paid for it with. (Which won’t happen 🙈) on the ship currently , the casino will offer you 60c and guest services 51c 😱 if all that makes sense. Anyway I just find it easier to have on there before we sail.

Hi there all, question please. We are cruising b2b at end of the month. Quantum. Thursday I called RCCL and purchased OBC. they said they would email receipt/details etc. it has been cleared in by bank but I have not yet received the email and it isn’t showing up on my booking at all. Should I call again or would this take a certain period of time to show up? Thanks in advance 😃

We will be there in couple weeks I will check it out and report back. Read on another page that there are new owners and prices nowhere near what they used to be and a lot of cruisers either: purchase from ship as they said it works out same or some place in Main Street (can’t remember name) but we like you have been thee many many times over many years and it was the only place to go. 😃

We have been to vila many times and always purchased duty free from Fung Kuei but have read recently that cruisers who have been to Villa that that is nowhere near the cheapest anymore and a couple in the Main Street are much more competitive. Have you heard this as well?

We have done many domestic cruises and always purchased duty free. Hence why they go to a specific area so people can purchase ? unless things have changed recently. But as mentioned we won’t be getting any anyway 🙈 so disregard my rambling 😂

Our first cruise is South Pacific then next is Qld coast.- cairns etc (Quantum- so out of Brisbane) if we were to get duty free on first part of cruise, I assume if taken on we would have to hand over and get back on last night, so could get more on the 2nd cruise as well? Not that we would as we need to fly home (Tas) so wouldn’t want to be carrying all that but was just a thought 💭 Anyway thanks again. Everyone on here are great. 😃

Hi there. We are booked on Quantum of the seas 28/12 and doing a B2B. Unfortunately not in the same cabin but only about 6 cabins away. Has anyone recently done a b2b. We have cruised many many times but this will be our first b2b 👏👏👏 and have read so many varying/conflicting things about what actually happens on disembarkation day of first cruise. Has anyone done this recently that can advise. (ie… do you need to completely pack and disembark and get back on or /pack roughly leave clothes in hangers etc and room steward will take to new room etc. Thanks in advance. (Rat test to be done day before back in port?) etc Fiona 😃

Thank you so very much. It’s nice that someone knows what I am talking about. I have the garments/sleeve for day use and a comfy wave night garment and the pump is that extra lil treatment that helps. I won’t be having any lasar while away so think the pump will be used more thanks again. x

Thank you so much everyone for your thoughts/replies. I guess technically it’s not medical (I can go without it) it’s just like having a massage on my arm or a lymphatic drain massage. I will call or email them just for peace of mind I think as I would like to take it as arm is worse and swells in the heat (and we going South Pacific) and the massages on ship are quite expensive so wouldn’t want to have a daily massage there 🙈 Thanks again

Hi all. Does anyone know if you can still pre purchase OBC with RCCL? we have 2 x cruises booked on Quantam (back to back) Dec/Jan. Out of Aus (US onboard)We have been on many cruises with RCCL and I recall a few years ago, I purchased prior (have a feeling it was in the royal gifts section) when you log into RCCL. I can’t see it there anymore at all. Is this still an option? thanks in advance 😀
