Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I will be arriving in Civitavecchia March 18th. We plan on taking the train to Rome and starting with going inside the Colosseum and Roman Forum. I have several questions I hope you guys could help me with. 1. Arrival time is 7am. with self disembarkation (this isn't the end of our trip), what time can we expect to be at the train station? We will try to get off as soon as we can, but I know they tier the disembarkation and release some sections before others. 2. I plan on getting BIRG tickets as I read those would be ideal considering we can go back and forth and also use the metro/bus if needed. My only concern is if there will be large lines to get those tickets since everyone is coming off the cruise. This is probably the main problem with getting those versus prebooking online. Is this actually a concern? If not, where exactly do I go to get the BIRG tickets. 3. The reason I need to get a good approximation of when we get off is I need to know the time to book the Colosseum. We can go to the Roman Forum first in case we get way too early and spend an hour there.... but way too early and we would be doing a lot of walking to other sights first just to back track, so that would be far from ideal. Ideally I would buy tickets for 2 hours after getting on the train..... So I'm not sure if that's like 10am...or 12pm Thanks!
  2. Posting this there. Mod can delete this one then. Thanks for the heads up

  4. Wow, thank you for the detailed information. Does the one included change for the basic CHOOSE (ELIGE) fare have to be done in advance or can it be done after missing your train? So if I buy the 10:15 basic choose fare, and because of some kind of bad circumstances we aren't making it in time, will I be able to change the tickets to the 12:00 upon arrival at the station? (Of course assuming there are seats left)
  5. Which train time are you referring to? I mentioned 10:15 and 12
  6. We are coming back from a cruise on March 22nd with MSC World Europa. From my understanding, we will probably land on Pier A or B. We are planning on taking a train that same day (As early as possible) to Valencia. It's 7 of us (2 kids). I want to prebook the train from Barcelona-Sants but to do that I need to know what time I can realistically make and the best way to transport there. We usually prefer taking public transport but I'm not sure how realistic it is with all our luggage and kids under a time crunch. The earlier the train the better, but I also don't know what to expect for disembarkation time, walking times, taxi wait times if we do taxi, and etc... The best train time seems to be 10:15, but I think that will probably be risky to make? The next realistic train time is 12:00, which is a less direct and more expensive option. Any insight or advice would be appreciated.
  7. Awesome, so sounds like I can take it anytime on September 2nd. Thank you!
  8. Just to confirm. When they say that antigen testing needs to be done within 2 days of embarkation.... What does that mean exactly? If embarkation is officially 8pm with a scheduled board time of 3pm on Sept 4th.... Does that mean the test needs to be done no sooner that sept 2nd 12:01am, 3pm, or 8pm?? The PCR one is clearer as it literally says 72 hours, instead of saying the vague notion of "days"
  9. So sounds like no one has any easy places in ANC and the telehealth option may be best? May be a bit difficult to get something delivered considering I leave in a few days!
  10. From my understanding they recommend 2 specific ones but any telehealth monitored ones are accepted
  11. I think they have changed it to $130 per person when it's done for the point of travel..... Has anyone just told them it's for exposure reasons to avoid that fee......
  12. I googled that name and I found $35 a person. Am I looking at the wrong thing? I.saw that thread and I believe yours is that way because you have the land trip before. Otherwise they do not do free preboarding tests
  13. I have a cruise with Holland that is boarding September 4th from Anchorage. I will be there beforehand by august 29th. I was going to order those at home tests for my family, but now I'm thinking it ay be easier (and cheaper?) to just get a local test done. If I understand correctly, the antigen test needs to be done no earlier than Sept 2nd but needs to be done and uploaded by September 3rd into Verifly to use that app at check-in? Does anyone know of the easiest/fastest/cheapest way to get an acceptable test in Anchorage? We are a family of 3 and will be with another family of 3. Thanks!
  14. Thanks for the link to the menu! So it looks like the have it all package includes the signature drink package. Does the $11 limit for that package include the fact that there is 18% gratuity? So for example, if a drink is $10 on the menu, after the automatic gratuity it's actually 11.80, right?. Does that mean the drink won't be covered or is the $11 limit BEFORE gratuity
