Who has the time for this nonsense, I know you are kidding, but testing for a virus with no symptoms is a bit silly, who has the time to stick up on tests and then take them and worry constantly, blah blah blah
Agree, it's ridiculous.

Glad to hear this, since we'll be on Quantum next week. We plan to mask also (well, except when we're eating and drinking!) We haven't had Covid yet, and not even a cold for almost 3 years...and I'd like to keep it that way!
You can wear that mask 24/7, doesn't mean it's going to help

Yeah this is why I will not step foot on a cruise for a long time even though we are diamond. No doubt chances of Covid spread will increase exponentially now.
sounds like the right decision if you're that scared.

Why am I not surprised? 🙄 I wonder how you would feel about going if you turned out to be sick as a dog and in quarantine? 👍🏼
Well at least my family would have fun.

So curious. If you tested positive for Covid 2-3 days before cruise and was vaccinated, would you still cruise? Since you do not need to test if you are vaccinated, I suspect many would just cruise so they are not out any $$.
I would cruise.

My same problem!!! I am going to try that line too. I agree 100% you and I should not be penalized for not using our points when the darn government shut down cruising forever!!! There was no alternative for us!
I asked RC about it recently and was told that is up to the banking company that has the cards if we get our points. So I will be calling again to try to use them, but I fear we are going to get a HUGE RUN-AROUND on the disappearing points!!
In 2015 I booked our family of 19 in balconies paying for everything with 2 Royal credit cards, and continued to build up points. Used some in 2019 for onboard credit for a 7 nt cruise. (We took 5 cruises, total 10 weeks in 2019, and completed 2 weeks in Feb. 2020 on another cruise line, just b4 covid locked us up forever!)
Our 1st cruise was end of March this year, with another in mid-July, both of those on Princess. Have an RC cruise booked 2 months from now & want to use points for onboard credit for drinks!
My travel agent told me to call the # on back of card. I guess it's worth a shot.

We have a cruise booked for Nov 2023. Our last one was April 2018. I know after 5 years you start losing points per month. Do you think they will waive that if I call and ask since the whole covid thing disrupted so much cruising? Anyone have any luck with this? Trying to get as much onboard credit as possible.

First, no politics, just wondering why..... I see that Carnival has opened up to unvaxxed, while Royal has not opened up ports in Florida like they have in California and Galveston? Anyone know why and when this should/will change? I see Carnival doubled its bookings yesterday...think Royal will see this and quickly move to open Florida??
Don't understand it either. Plenty of people ready to flock to Norwegian or Carnival. Get your crap together Royal
-
Time for Royal to end all this nonsense. Stop the testing, allow unvaxxed folks onboard. It's time, the other lines have dropped the ball.

I would also prefer to have the test requirements gone for those of us that are fully vaccinated (and boosted where available).
At this point, some of us have done all we personally can to protect the public health through vaccination.
If someone decides to cruise unvaccinated and put their personal health at risk, it is on them if they become severely ill.
Guess you haven't noticed all the vaxxed getting it and spreading it?

Exactly! Seems like this is more of a step backwards. I personally think allowing lots of unvaccinated people onboard will backfire….Lol, why?

We stayed in one of these rooms on Liberty in 2018. Did not notice these rooms on the website that you could book them. Our TA did it for us in 2018. I believe I remember her saying you needed at least 5 to book but we had only 4. She said she took care of it. Found the rooms on the deck plans on deck 12 but not listed under suites or outside on the website. I think there are only two on deck 12. We loved it, very spacious and are looking to snag one again. Looking at Adventure for a late 2023 cruise. Is this something you have go through a TA or call Royal directly to book?

I usually sail RCI, but may switch over to Norweigian if they got rid of the vax mandate. My family is unvaxxed and ready to cruise.

Maybe the media is wrong as you believe they are, but these are the latest stats where I'm from (Canada): 85.03% of the population vaccinated with at least one dose.
That's Canada. Many reasons for that including who is running your country

I'm not vaccinated, so I don't have a reference point, but from what I've read, I agree. The omicron strain is more flu-like, less lethal, regardless of vaccination or booster status, and most of the boosters are only effective against omicron for a very very short period of time.
We will all get omicron. I've had it, TWICE (BA.4 for sure, probably BA.5, but had no symptoms EITHER time and only found out when I helped a friend self-test and joined them).
I am so ready to cruise and be done with this madness so in year folks see I'm not the plague.
Totally agree with you. It's been madness times ten. My family haven't cruised since 2018. Unvaxxed and we've had some great land trips seeing the US but we are ready to get back to cruising.

I know this might sound selfish, but I’ve heard from many people some are friends and most I’ve met on cruises they are all royal diamond plus or pinnacle club. Now keep in mind that all of these people are vaccinated and I know for a fact that if Royal made vaccinated people pay for a test to make way for the unvaccinated that wouldn’t go over well at all with their more frequent loyal customers. The general consensus that I’ve found is that the vaccine requirement is fairly popular and most think it should stay, but testing is not popular at all.
No it should not stay

I agree that dropping vaccination requirement makes more sense, as most adults are vaccinated anyway. If they really "believed" the vaccination works, they shouldn't worry about everyone around them being vaccinated as well. If I get a flu shot, I would feel protected and wouldn't want to force people around me to get a flu shot because I would believe I'm protected by the flu shot. Covid vaccination seems to be different for some reason.
Most adults are not vaxxed unlike what the media tells you. I'd say it's 50%. 95% of the adults I know are not.

Ours all do. DH gave blood this morning at a church and had to wear one. All medical facilities require them.
Mine doesn't and I wouldn't wear one if it did. I'd walk out.
