Virginia has a law about this, similar to the EU's GDPR. California and a few other states have passed their own variants. I'm assuming the OP lives in a state that has not.

I still want to know..when is the optimal time to drink liquid IV? Before? After but before you go to bed?In the morning? ( about to order for my Feb cruise)

I always take one first thing in the morning, and drink plenty of plain water throughout the day. If I could match Megan's pace of drinking maybe I'd have another midday to be safe 🤣

(to be clear I'm no lightweight but I'm also no Megan)

That airfare section was weird.  Didn't it say they would only reimburse if the airfare was transferable with the airline for credit and covered only the difference, or something like that? Maybe I just don't understand but I to was unimpressed with what I saw.  After all, this isn't an act of nature or similar, this is entirely on CCL.

They said they would only reimburse if the tickets were wholly nonrefundable - as in, the airline wouldn't allow you to convert it to credit to be used at a later date, which almost all of them do in the post-COVID world.

Just curious, has anyone affected actually seen their refund yet? I got a gift card immediately for Cheers but nothing about the other two excursions, my deposit and I had a good part of the rest paid off through uplift. Before I sit on hold for half an hour I figured I'd ask. The original notice said it could take 3-4 weeks to process so I can't really complain yet.

I'm also waiting for my fare to be refunded (already got the excursions refunded) and getting antsy. I booked myself at a fancy resort for next week instead - more expensive per night than I would stay at if this wasn't supposed to be a salvage vacation attempt - and I need that refund to land before the charges do, ideally.

  5. Excited for another live review from you! Glad to see some more people who do these live reviews branching out to try Princess - my family wants to do an Alaska cruise in 2025 and they've got the best itinerary so far for what we all want to do, but I heard some pretty bad things about their food and service on CC from right when cruising restarted. Seems to me like things have righted themselves now and I'd be more than happy to sail them, especially to Alaska.

(I'm totally not jealous that you're cruising now and I have to wait till April now because I was booked on one of the Panorama sailings that just got canceled... Nope, not jealous at all....)

  6. I did a brunch cooking class on the Panorama a year ago. It was fun, but if you already like to cook you're probably not going to learn too much. Was a cool experience for my vacation and then we got to eat everything, which was great! And took home the recipes (I've started making French toast that way and it's soooooo good).

The cake decorating class does sound a little meh, though. Maybe look at one of the other options?

  7. I'm booked on the Panorama leaving 12/2. It'll be my third time on this itinerary and I'd only booked Carnival excursions, so if this happened on my sailing, I'd be a little sad but would still have a great vacation. I'd probably take the OBC and the refunded excursion money and get a massage or something (though I think they're wildly overpriced compared to land spas). But I have unlimited PTO and didn't pay a fortune for the trip.

Even still, I will admit, I'm a little on edge at the possibility of a changed itinerary for my sailing. I like sea days, but if the whole ship is forced to stay onboard then things are going to be a lot more crowded than when it's just you choosing to stay on, which impacts the experience.

  8. That's probably a great time to go. When I did this itinerary in September, the heat and humidity in the ports was a bit of a mood-killer. My January trip was better IMO - it probably won't be shorts weather on the first or last day, but I was pleasantly surprised that on the first sea day it was warm enough to lay out on Serenity!

Moving a cruise to another is considered a new booking and if done after Oct 4th you would only be able to get the current AI program at that time less the grats.

At least when I did it recently, it was not considered a new booking and therefore my TA could not take over the reservation for the new cruise, despite the ship, cabin class, year, and sail date all being different.

  10. I have a booking for the new Ascent in November of 2024 - made it a few months ago (moving a deposit from an Equinox cruise I couldn't take). Just checked in my account and there's suddenly a new line item for prepaid tips in my booking statement, and the total amount due has gone up. So no, I don't think we can unequivocally say that this change will only affect bookings made after 10/4. Seems safe to say only that if you are past final payment by 10/4 then they're not going to tack on the extra charge (which would be god-awful if they did that, so no praise for doing the bare minimum).

I was really looking forward to experiencing Celebrity E-class, but at this rate, I have no idea whether I'll keep this one either. Who knows what they might change a year from now?

The comedian at the limelight did a boring 30 minute bit with a guitar.

They really need to end this guy's contract with Carnival, he's not that funny and the guitar is annoying. I came to see a comedian not an amateur singer-songwriter. But of all the Carnival comedians I've ever seen, he's the only one I ever had an issue with.

I understand that cancelling the cruise will forfeit my entire deposit, but am I able to change either the date or to a new ship without losing the whole deposit?

You will be charged a $100 fee to move your deposit to a different sailing (date or ship). However, that money does get applied to your overall balance total; it's not just an administrative fee.

  13. I had this issue recently where I didn't realize Celebrity had such a short window in which you could transfer to a TA (other lines will let you do it whenever). However, the thing that really irks me is that after I transferred my deposit from an Equinox 2023 cruise (that I could no longer go on) to a Beyond 2024 cruise - duly paying the transfer fee, of course - they considered that to be the same booking number and would not let me transfer the Beyond cruise to my TA. Which is absurd IMO. How is it the same booking number? It's a completely different ship and date.

We can get our espresso coffees right at the breakfast bar—they are $$ so not included (for what we pay extra for these rooms it would nice if the espressos WERE included, but I digress) but SO convenient t get espressso a few steps from our room, and no Java Blue line!  We had the homemade granola (yummy!) with yogurt and the fresh squeezed orange juice (included).  Also on offer were fruit, pastries, cereal.  This is a great perk that we will use nearly every day.

I always get a drink package so no skin in the game on having to pay for the coffee drinks, but I agree - if this continental breakfast perk is supposed to make up for not having a pool like the Havana area on any other class of ship, why make you pay extra for the espresso drinks? They could've easily just not put in an espresso bar (and the staff required to make them) also. And it's not like the other stuff they're giving you is all that expensive, it's just the convenience of having it so close to the rooms (which, again, might actually entice me to try this category of room, should I ever book onto a "Fun Italian Style!" ship)
