Wow, so no retreat area for adults anymore?  You have to pay for the sanctuary to have an adults only pool.  That will keep me off that ship then.

I really enjoyed the Retreat on Royal last week.  There were too many kids in main pool, and that was midweek in May!

we are big-time thermal suite patrons......

We like the VF cabins forward....on deck 8 (either side)

    Why?

only one floor from the spa (stairwell is nearby and you arrive on deck 9 next to the spa)

they are tucked away in the front of the ship at a dead end corridor

you are also near the lido deck

they have a good price point

    Enjoy the journey!

Forward cabins don't sway too much? We book mid or aft cabins.

If one person in a stateroom is a veteran, that person can get the veterans OBC, and if a second person in the stateroom is a shareholder, that second person can get the shareholder OBC.  At least that has worked for us.  the veteran and shareholder OBC are the same amount.  One person can’t get both the veteran and the shareholder.  And if you have two shareholders in the stateroom, you can only get the shareholder OBC for one person.

Thank you, seems I could get one and hubby get the other.  I will double check with my PCC.

I doubt most Carnival cruisers own Carnival stock. Stock purchase benefits Corporate somewhat, but I'm not sure any goes directly to cruise lines. OTOH, deposits (shareholder or not) might.

It seems to me the OBC, if used, might end up effectively being a transfer from corporate to the individual cruise lines.

When using the OBC one is still giving a profit to Carnival because they make $$ on the product bought with the OBC, such as a bottle of wine, jewelry, even an excursion.

or you could invest in crypto or been invested in one of the banks that have failed recently.

I'll receive at least $850 in shareholder OBC this year, and my stock long ago paid for itself. Carnival Corp isn't going to disappear. Carnival has more cash on hand than RCL and NCL combined. They are masters at financing. At least Carnival had the vision to arrange for a new revolving credit facility before the latest banking crisis.

I just saw that ”facility” today.  It also seems to me with the individual stockholders financing them a little bit, anyway, it is more valuable than the onboard credit they give.  Probably a lot of stock holders would stop sailing Carnival if they stopped the OBC just upon principal.

  6. The photo above was Not the photo.  I was there.  It was a home-made sail boat, made out of Styrofoam, boards, and tarps.  The only words I could understand that they were calling out was "ayudame"....."help me" in Spanish. Really quite a remarkable rescue.  We watched the Rotterdam Sailors throw out the weighted throw rope three times, and it missed the raft.  The third time, one of the refugees jumped into the water to catch the rope and he was able to swim back to the raft and was helped on.  Then they had the raft tethered to  ship and were able to pull them in to safety.
