I've been to Mexico, and I've never had to exchange in the past. However, this is my first time on the Pacific/Riviera side of the country. If I were to shop with local vendors, would they accept US dollars? Is there ever a situation where I would need pesos in the tourist areas? I just want to be prepared.

Just thought I'd ask for recommendations. I say inexpensive because I asked another message board about perfume once, and I recieved some very expensive answers. I appreciate the finer things in life, but I'm looking to buy a roller ball/travel size from Sephora or Ulta, maybe even just a body spray from Bath And Body Works. I won't be going to Saks or Neiman Marcus.

We're from New Orleans, so we found Alaska a bit chilly LOL For that reason we were more dressed up then we would have been if we were on a Southern cruise. With all of the luggage restrictions airlines have implemented, I'm more inclined to "dress up" a pair of black pants than to pack formal wear.
