  1. Sorry if this has been addressed before. I have not been on the boards for a while. We have a cruise in January on the Edge. I read on their website where NCL allows their passengers to" take shore excursions or explore on your own". Is the same true for Celebrity? Do you need to book a celebrity excursion ?

  2. We will be on the Edge for the second time in January. This will be our 13 cruise with Celebrity. Yes, the attire for the other cruiser have changed over the years but we still think it's better to be over-dressed then under-dressed.

  3. We love playing Royal St Kitts Golf Course. Beautiful course with some holes along the Caribbean. No golf courses located on St Thomas or St Maarten any more. St Lucia has several courses but we have never played any of them. The island is too beautiful not to explore.

  4.  Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines is canceling three port calls to St. Thomas and three port calls to St. Croix in retaliation for Tourism Commissioner Joseph Boschulte’s firing of WICO Executive Director Clifford Graham in June, the Virgin Islands Free Press has learned.According to our sources, Disney Cruise Lines is most likely to jump off the USVI tourism bandwagon next. Disney Cruise Lines currently calls on St. Thomas only.

  5. Just off the Jan 27th cruise on Edge. As the prior posters state, the cabanas are located on a main walkway. That area  was a wind tunnel the entire cruise , even on sea days. Plants were tipped over and the cushions were flying everywhere. NEVER saw them being used at any time.

  6. Just returned from the Edge on Feb. 3rd. We also noticed the smell on our last night at the Rooftop Grill and Sunset bar. We were told Celebrity Edge burns it's own trash, which would explain the smell. We were in a Sunset Veranda cabin but never encounter the smell on our balcony, only on the top desk.

  7. Although your answers were amusing, they really didn;t address the question. Has any who HAS sailed the Edge noticed a difference in the way the passengers are dressing. We have still always felt way over dressed compared to others since Celebrity changed to Chic Nights.Packing evening gowns and a tux really takes up a lot of room and adds weight to the suitcases.

  8. Unlike most, we a excited for our upcoming cruise Jan.27th on  the Edge. We booked an SV on deck 10 for a total of $3300. We  have  no concerns about any noise from Eden or the aft Sunset Bar. If available, a cabin on the aft is always our first choice. When the info about the IV rooms were released, we considered one, but quickly recognized some of the drawbacks with them.We are longtime Celebrity cruisers. We know that the Edge will be different but that's why we booked her.. I applaud them for trying to change with the times and venue into some new waters.Time will tell if the new direction is a "hit or miss".If the reviews and opinions of the followers on this board have you doubting your decision to sail the Edge, you always should go with your gut.

  9. We have done both of those itineraries a number of times. There is so much to do in port of the "new " one.

St Croix.. beautiful beaches or take trip over to Christensted.

St Marteen ...Take ferry over to shopping area( it's like Rodeo Dr ) lots of great shops. Catch a cab to Moho Beach to see the planes take-off/ land. stay in town, $25 gets you two chairs, beach umbrella and bucket of beers on the beach

Dominica..must do is to go to Emerald Pool.. It's our favorite !! Also Tarfalgar Falls and Ti Tou Gorge(Where the 2nd Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed)

Barbardos...Spend the day exploring the island. Barbados Flower ,Forest,Cherry tree Hill and Bathsheba Beach

Grenada...Shop in town the local markets or spend the day at the beach via the party boat.

  10. We have been to Old San Juan many times. We will be stopping there on the Celebrity Edge in January.  We always make it a point to go to Barrachina's just to have one of the famous Pina Colada's
