Hi Copper10-8
Do you know who will be the Captain, Hotel Manager, and Cruise Director for Ms Amsterdams Tales of the South Pacific this year?
Thank you!

As of now neither has officially been announced to my knowledge. I was hopeful that both might be given to those currently on the GWV, but I have not yet read anything to that effect.
Thank you! Im excited to find out.

On the Prinsendam a few weeks ago we were told by the future cruise consultant that it would be roundtrip Ft Lauderdale & would circle Africa clockwise (ie. starting with the Med then down around Capetown). She didn't know anything more than this. She also thought we would get an itinerary before the cruise ended on March 25, but she was wrong about that, so who know?
Rick
Thank you! I’m patiently waiting.

Maasdam, Amsterdam and Volendam still have full deployments to be announced though there are some things we can guess - Amsterdam is rumored for Grand Africa in fall 2020 and World Cruise is confirmed for 2021 though not on website yet.
Good morning,
Do you know what the Grand Africa itinerary would be? Has HAL given any information about the proposed itinerary for World Cruise 2021? I have been waiting patiently for any news about those two Voyages.
Thank you,
Debbie

I too am anxiously awaiting the announcement of Amsterdam’s 2021 itineraries.

Holland America is offering a “Best Fares” Sale. I noticed the cruise we are taking in October was a couple of thousand dollars cheaper than a few days ago. There are some restrictions though.

I actually disembarked in Buenos Aires last week so have not been able to get further information. I think HAL is supposed to be announcing the specifics of the Grand Africa soon though.
Andrea
Thank you for your response! I am looking forward to finding out more about the Grand Asia and Grand Africa.

Hello all, I am currently on the Grand South America/Antarctica cruise and sometimes rumors do become true. Per the onboard fcc, there will indeed be a Grand Africa on the Amsterdam in the fall of 2020 lasting 60-80 days round trip from either Boston or Ft. Lauderdale. No specifics yet about itinerary or pricing. But you are able to place a $100 hold which will guarantee you a reservation when the booking officially opens. (I did). Should be exciting one (even without knowing the exact ports). Also, per Cheryl, the Amsterdam will again do a Grand Asia in the fall of 2021 (which they are accepting pre-reservation holds for).
Let it you know I f I learn more.

Hi Andrea,
Is there any more information regarding the schedule of the Ms Amsterdam in the Fall of 2020?
Grand Asia in 2021?
Grand World Voyage in 2021?
I know that these type of Voyages sell out quickly. My husband and I would love to experience one of the Grand Voyages.
I hope you are enjoying your cruise 😃
Thank you!

If you tried to put one of the beds in the nook where the sofa is... not sure if it would fit. If it did it would be really tight with little room on either side. Definitely no room for night stand. Then the sofa would have to go somewhere. For more room we will have them remove the chair and the little round table. They just got in our way last time. We used the sofa as a staging /storage platform. One disadvantage of room 7056 is that the walls don't hold magnets like they do in every other cabin we ever stayed in on HAL. Magnets will only stick to bathroom door and cabin door.

I've been searching for photos of 7055 and haven't found any. Any help you can give would be appreciated. Do you have a photo of 7056?
If you give me your e-mail address, I’ll send you a few. My e-mail address is deburahiru at Comcast dot net

Hi DaveOKC, I have a question about transportation from Long Beach Airport to cruise ship terminal. Will it be easy to take Uber or taxi? Or should we pay for Holland’s shuttle bus?

Tricare coverage on cruise??
in Military Cruisers

I have TRICARE For Life and Medicare. Medicare won't pay anything if you are outside the continental US or its territories. Therefor TRICARE is the only insurer. In the states I pay nothing for almost any imagined medical treatment or hospital stay. However overseas I will need to satisfy a $150/$300 deductible and pay a 25% copay for most treatment. If appropriate, air evacuation is covered by TRICARE to "the closest, safest place" to receive the care needed. (Not to the U.S. in many cases.) Again I would likely pay 25% of a huge air evacuation bill. The one saving grace is there is a $3,000 catastrophic cap each year. It applies to all TRICARE recipients, including those traveling or living overseas . The most I would be forced to pay is $3,000 out of pocket. (Although I might need to put sums greater than that on a credit card or cards.) We are planning an 87 day cruise to South America and the South Pacific this fall. Still not convinced I shouldn't be buying travel insurance but will at least look for the cheapest route given these other factors. Like others it would be a peace of mind thing more than a practical consideration.
