  1. I know the Susan Graver liquid knit collection comes in plus sizes. Any other recommendations for travel collections that come in plus sizes? Finding pants that are both petite AND plus size is kind of a unicorn, but I thought I'd throw it out there too in case anyone knows of a brand that offers them. I'm a 2X with a 27" inseam, fwiw. Dresses and shirts I don't need petite sizing for, but regular-length pants hit the floor on me!
  2. Well, to each their own, right? 😄 I do have some other colors mixed in, but the staple pieces are all black or white. I don't look great in bright colors anyway, so I'm OK with it. But it's kind of an experiment for me, so we'll see how well I like it after I spend nine days wearing the same colors!
  3. I should probably add that I don't expect to be lounging around in my swimsuit and coverup all afternoon .... I know some people like to do that but I just don't find it comfortable, personally, so I'm more likely to wear it just briefly on my way back to my room to change into clothes that aren't wet. Looking at our itinerary I think I will have at most two "beach days" both in the Bahamas (because I signed up for a cave tour in Bermuda and we're going to Disney from Port Canaveral). Do people generally wear their swimsuit/coverup all day for those? I have not been to a beach where you could swim since I was 4 years old at Padre Island, so I'm really clueless here!
  4. We are flying from ND to Newark the night before and then making our way over to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal in the morning, so yeah, I think I need a coat 🙂 It's a lightweight puffer coat from Columbia so hopefully it won't be too bad carrying it around. (But I definitely want something midweight for the cruise because it's probably overkill once we're on the ship). Also it's pretty normal with the little planes between Bismarck and Denver to have to get off the plane through stairs out on the runway and then walk over to the terminal. It might be as cold as -30F in ND in January, so I wouldn't want to risk going without my coat even for just a few hundred feet.
  5. Did you knit that?? It's fabulous!! I only knit basic scarves and hats but I know enough to appreciate how beautiful your work is there ❤️
  6. I guess I was thinking if I got the right kind of coverup it could double as a wrap/cardigan to wear with a tank top and pants, to expand the outfit possibilities. Sounds like you guys are saying I won't need so many of the others though? I have a month and a half to pare down, lol
  7. Came here to look for this topic. We're on a Norwegian cruise that stops in Port Canaveral from 7 am to 1 am (yes you read that correctly, we depart after midnight) on Sunday, Jan. 22, and the friends we're going with are planning to go to the Magic Kingdom. I'm thinking my husband and I might look into sharing an Uber with our friends but then going to Epcot as it seems more interesting. Thoughts? I know everyone said "you won't have enough time" but considering it's actually 18 hours in port for us, does that change your opinion? Anyone know how the traffic is likely to be on a Sunday in January with nothing big going on?
  8. It's Norwegian, I just learned this too. I have also heard elsewhere that it's not strictly enforced as long as you don't go overboard with the decor (but depends on the ship/crew). I am going on my first cruise on NCL in January and am planning to bring just one door magnet.
  9. I'm planning for a January cruise to Bermuda/Bahamas, which can be cool in the winter apparently (I've never been on a cruise) and I want to be prepared for both cool and warm temperatures while not over-packing. I'm planning to mostly pack black and white clothes so I can mix and match without bringing too much stuff. My tops and dresses are mostly patterned so I have solid-color cardigans. Right now I have - Lightweight jersey black cardigan (casual) Lightweight jersey white cardigan (casual) Medium-weight black sweater cardigan (a little dressier) I'm considering buying/bringing - A dressy black lace or crochet cardigan or shawl (something VERY lightweight) A long/modest white swimsuit coverup Is this enough? Too much? Should I bring one heavier sweater also? (I will also have an actual winter coat along since I'm flying in from North Dakota, fwiw)
  10. My husband and I have the "Free at Sea" unlimited open bar package. We're traveling with friends who aren't heavy drinkers and didn't spring for the package. I know it's technically not allowed to share drinks but is anyone going to notice if I grab a second drink for a friend when I go to the bar? I guess I'm wondering how serious an offense it is and if anyone really cares. (I'm NOT talking about grabbing a bunch of extra liquor for people who didn't pay for it, but just like an occasional soda or maybe beer/wine.)
