  1. My recommendation is...... don't book a guarantee if you want something specific..... You MAY get lucky but you will generally get the least desirable location........ above the disco, below the pool deck, etc. I also prefer being near elevators and have typically found that if I book late, I won't find a cabin near the elevators because they are popular. Once it is assigned, you are stuck unless they make an exception. Good luck with whatever you do.

  2. As long as the sailing is part of the promo, book as many as you want. I was booked on the 1/24/15 Liberty already, which is not part of the promo....... but the 1/16/15 8 day was. So now I'm back to back. My inside was $1500 on 1/24...... my balcony was $429 on the 1/16 cruise with the promo. One thing to keep in mind is that I booked Friday night and had about 25 balcony cabins to choose from. By this morning it was down to 8........ Now, balconies are no longer available......... So don't wait if you want a balcony!

  3. We have Cabin 9201 on the Breeze booked for September. It is not a handicap room and instead of being rectangular like the other insides, this one is square shaped.

We had 9201 on the Breeze last year. Best cabin we have ever stayed in. No sofa but very roomy and the access to the private deck was great. You'll love it

  4. We'll just pack our own. Thank you for replying though. :)

Carnival does limit the amount you can take on board. You'll be able to take the following:

On embarkation day, each guest may bring a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages on board and only in their carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 bottles and/or cans, 20 ounces each or less.

You can also order from the bon voyage dept. precruise directly on the Carnival website

  5. No, it does not end at 6am on debarkation day. I assumed it wouldn't cover debarkation day as well. However, my roommate thought otherwise so we clarified with guest services. We had mimosas and coffee liquor drinks at breakfast before debarking and were not charged anything additional.

ETA: This was on the Legend this past November

ETA2: Sorry for trying to help out with answering a question. I apparently have "problems" for drinking so early (insert eye roll here)

It was my understanding that coffee drinks with liquor are excluded. I am planning to purchase cheers on our cruise leaving next week and hope they are available under cheers....... Did you order these at other times on your cruise?

  6. You missed the point, but I expected that...

Big deal, it's dinner, I can't believe people are getting so bent out of shape.

This is a vacation... I guess people are missing that.

Oh well, this is the reason I stopped going to the MDR years ago... Too much production, too much wasted time, and jamming 16 people into a table meant for 6.

As someone who served our country, I would expect you to have more respect for others.

I have been in the food service business for 20 years and know first hand how hard it is to coordinate feeding 1000 people....... Late comers DO have an effect on everyone, especially those being served by the same waitstaff team as the latecomers.

Dinner is one of the highlights of my day on a cruise and many feel the same way....... It doesn't mean we are bent out of shape because we feel that way and respect the fact that it isn't only our vacation, but also the vacation of everyone else around us.

  7. 2 years ago I booked a guarantee and was assigned an HC cabin well after final payment. Approx 3 weeks before sailing I was called to give the cabin up to someone who needed it. I did so gladly and was assigned a cabin in the same category in a location that was not desirable. I was not happy to be assigned the original cabin but assumed at the time that they would have kept it if they felt they may need it and since I booked a "guarantee", I was pretty much stuck.

The moral of the story is:

    1) If you book a guarantee, you may get stuck so be prepared for anything

    2) If you book an HC cabin, you may be moved, even at last minute, and you can not expect an upgrade...... and could end up in an undesirable location.

    3) If you book an HC cabin just because you want the location or extra room,......... and then are moved..... you do not deserve an upgrade or better location so just deal with it if you end up in a less than desirable stateroom in the end.

    4) If you find yourself upset at the cruiseline because you are losing that nice HC cabin at the last minute..... that is karma biting you because the one you should be upset with is "you".

  8. This may have come up before but does anyone know if CCL has any intention of implementing other drink packages? I an strictly a beer drinker and some lines offer reduced prices on packages that don't include hard liquor. Now that CCL is serving draft beer, they could even limit it to draft..... though I would prefer they include bottles.

  9. I was booked into a HC cabin by CCL as a guarantee. This was about 6 weeks before sailing so it was after final payment. About 3 weeks later, they called me and moved me. Since there were so few cabins left at that point they moved me to a cabin in the same category in an undesirable area. Since I didn't like the area, I asked if they would upgrade me because of the inconvenience. They said they wouldn't because a cabin was available in that category........

The moral is....... If you book an accessible cabin..... understand that you can be moved at any time and you can not expect an upgrade. I knew when they put me there that I could be moved so I was not thrilled when I was assigned the cabin ......... I don't recommend anybody intentionally book an accessible cabin unless they actually need it.

  10. Just in case you aren't aware, this is an accesssible cabin so you could be bumped if they need it and if you don't require it. As long as you are up front with Carnival that you don't need it, if that is the case, There's nothing wrong with taking it, especially this close to sailing. These pics are from 10203, the mirror image of ths 10204 on the other side

  11. Went to Coba last month on a Carnival excursion. It was very interesting but I have not been to others to compare. You can't go inside but you can climb over 100 steps on one of the larger pyramids structures. The ferry ride was rough but tolerable and the bus ride was fairly long but our guide was very good in giving us history. We ended up spending about 2 hours there which was very interesting but not nearly enough time
