Yeah when you look at VV's size vs the bigger lines/conglomerates as well... for the bigger lines its easier to spread the cost of a longer and less profitable relocation avoiding the Red Sea across the company as a whole, where-as when you are dealing with just 3 (maybe 4) ships it has a bigger impact esp in the middle of all the other issues since launch/in the last few years Don't get me wrong, as an Aussie who really enjoyed our VV cruise this year (booked our second while onboard which is not something ever did on Princess) am frustrated and disappointed they wont be back next season, and def think there are parts of this that could and should have been handled better, but also do still understand why it was done

Th The rebook option I got was even more restrictive than that... to rebook it has to be same cabin AND same duration or less to retain the deal... or get the refund. Currently have a 6 day cruise booked here in Aus, wasnt likely to anyway but if I'm going to fly half way round the world even more unlikely would do that for 6 days or less... so seems refund it is 😞 Really does feel like they are hoping to push people towards just doing full refunds for anyone in Aus/NZ and wipe their hands of it, then start from scratch if/when they ever do decide to return

Think I remember seeing the pic of a ships board from a few months back that did actually list him as "Christopher B. Lye" - between that and actually being on the way to Fiji the mind/fingers just went there! 🤣

Just disembarked the Grand in Melbourne, Aaron Hawkins mentioned in his last wake show that it was his last as CD (missed who was taking over) heading home for a break for a couple of months then joining Regal (I think) when it starts its UK run Oh and mistyped on my earlier post, should have been Christoper Lye as captain not Blye!

On the Grand as we speak/type and Christopher Blye is currently Captain
