Cool Cruiser
1. You can walk around the bed, it is really close to the window, but not against it. I would say about 1 foot away. I had my husband sleep on that side:D . Bring a hair dryer, the one provided is not very powerful. We brought pretty much everything that was recommended by this site, like a bungee cord, we did use it one night. A battery alarm clock, there are no clocks in the staterooms. Other than that, we were pretty well set. Oh, bring a few sweaters or sweat shirts for wandering around the ship outside at night. I am so ready to go again. The plow guy came back a third time today. We are getting our money's worth.
2. We just got back from the Elation late last night. It was our first cruise. We had a Cat 11 Veranda room, and it was really nice, but since it was so windy the first night, we didn't sit out. It was nice to have a balcony while pulling in and out of port. I would go again in a minute. Sorry no pics of stateroom, I don't know how to get them into a post :o . Stuart was funny, the shows were really good, how do those dancers dance when the ship is moving like it did the first night? Thankfully neither of us got seasick. I really loved HMC. We fed the fish that followed us. There was a lady who brought canned cheese whiz, and the fish really loved that. We didn't book any trips, just kind of winged it. We took a taxi in Nassau to Atlantis. Came home to Ohio and 2 feet of snow. The snowplow guy even got stuck in our driveway today. Reality bites sometimes. Our steward, Alex even made me a special towel animal the last night:) .

Drinking water in Ports

Thanks for the advise. I needed a second and third opinion. I'll be careful in port. Does alcohol kill the bacteria in icecubes  ? Sorry, just a brain mush moment there.
4. Hi, this is my first post, for my first cruise. I have a question about beverages in the port cities. We are going to the Bahamas, Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay. I am a bit concerned about drinking because I have a wonderful intestinal disease called Crohn's Disease :( , and don't want to set it off. If I get a drink say, at Margaritaville in Grand Turk, is it safe? I hope this doesn't sound too cautious, but if I get a flare up, I could be out of commission for a few months. Thank you for your help, I wanted to ask the experts.
