I am thinking of the Hampton Inn Downtown Brooklyn and grabbing dinner nearby. It appears to be in a decently safe neighborhood. Is anyone familiar with the area and restaurants?

I get that. Don't misunderstand. I am not looking to get the cheapest hotel room on the planet. I am looking for a reasonable priced room that works for my purposes. I am open to whatever that may cost, but I don't think that I would have to spend $400 or $500 for a night.

I don't have a "budget", and I understand the New York City hotel market. It looks like $200 - $300 will get a decent hotel in the Brooklyn area for the 17th. It sounds like obtaining any complimentary transportation to a hotel that will fit the bill is not going to happen. I will probably get a Dial 7 for LGA to the hotel and hotel to the port. Any hotel recommendations would help. Thanks much.

My wife and I will be on the Meraviglia, September 18. We will fly into LGA the 17th on Southwest, landing at 5 PM. What is the best plan concerning where to stay the night of the 17th and the most cost efficient manner for ground transportation to the hotel (possibly free shuttle?) and from the hotel to the cruise terminal. I am looking for a midpriced safe, quiet hotel with a restaurant or close to restaurants. Also, is a return 11:55 AM return flight a wise choice? We have TSA Precheck.
