Has anyone aboard noticed if there is a choir mentioned in the Daily Programme?

Be prepared to be annoyed, there is no security to either access and back to the Grills Terrace, the view from the infinity tub…..
biggest bugbear though is NO terrace dining facility.
On our morning walk about we discovered a delightful shaded area nestled between the two forward sun decks. This is not a Grills area….
Is that area near the observation deck? Trying to get orientatated.

Does anyone please have any pics of any daily programmes they would care to share?

The above T&C 5 is only applicable 'before the final balance' has been paid.
If the full balance has already been paid and one of the two drops out then they are listed as a no show on embarkation day
This happened to me some years when a travel companion dropped out ( after final balance) I incurred no extra charge. Travel companion claimed through their travel insurance .
That seems to clarify things. Thanks.
The message seems to be, yes, you can still travel alone. 👏

It might be best to make sure Cunard modify the booking in advance in case you plan to buy any of the drink packages. If their system thinks there are two guests in the cabin it would insist on buying for both. And they might charge the Hotel and Dining service charge for both if the records weren't updated.
I’d hope that would be noted and recorded on check in?

Your question seems to have caused a discussion about travel insurance, I'm not sure that's what you had in mind. What do you want to know ?
As far as I know the party unable to travel will be marked as a No show but there will be no refund from Cunard. The other party can travel as a single occupant of the booked cabin.
(This is not from personal experience just from my reading of these boards)
You are exactly right. I’m not over bothered about insurance. That is another matter altogether. I’m interested to know whether the fit passenger is permitted to travel alone.

Wondering what happens when only one of the booked party is fit and able to embark a Cunard ship, either before embarkation day or on embarkation day.

Just after ours (H426), and we also have an abundance of OBC. We will try to leave some premium wines behind for the rest of you.
So kind. 👏

We usually buy the Wine packages pre-cruise, but having been disappointed with the selection in the Commodore's collection on our last two cruises we're going to wait until we board before purchasing. We've a huge amount of OBC because of the triple OBC special offer, for November's QA cruise, which we'll struggle to spend.
Same, we got loads too. H429?

If you have extra OBC, consider a pass to the thermal suite. That's my favorite indulgence on board QE or QV.

Brilliant idea! Never thought of that. Thanks.

Zeg,
Is OBS similar to OBC, On Board Credit?
Thanks

Interested to know if anyone has used OBS for:
1. Buying a commodore or captains wine collection?
2. Paying corkage charges?
Thanks.

Never turned it on (apart from safety briefing) in 21 days - too busy.

On a Helsinki to Stockholm ferry, dining in their speciality seafood restaurant there was a very large and loud Russian man at another table being poured unmeasured glasses of Vodka. Eventually they just left him with the bottle, there was never a risk of any being left.
Maybe he’d bought the bottle onboard. 🤷🏼♂️

We did both.- paying corkage and buying a the Commodore Collection. The corkage fee recently on QM2 was $25 and a few cents and no additional service charge. (even the Sommelier didn’t know what the few cents represented).
The Commodore Collection was available to us at a useful discount before sailing but involved a phone call to Cunard. The CC makes a significant difference to wine list prices making the wisdom of paying.a corkage charge debatable.
it’s not difficult to do the maths and the decision really depends on your personal love of particular wines. Be advised though particularly wines in the CC do get replaced.

Couldn’t agree more.
Curious how people gloat when the price they paid goes up and moan when it goes down.
Just decide on what its worth to you and move on.

Not sharp practice, the term is 'dynamic pricing' and yes prices go up and down and I don't think the company hiked the prices just to offer a discount.
A cabin we have booked went up a couple of weeks after we booked it [which we did on past passengers' booking day]. On sale, it was still more than we paid.
It happens.

You could try cancelling your ‘automatically added’ gratuities and rewarding especially attentive and accommodating service as you go.
Not only with cash add a box of chocolates for the Maitre D to share among the service staff. That’s always appreciated.
The key is to be kind, friendly and empathetic - it’s often returned.

Some of those workers are often covered by union contracts. Way beyond the scope of this conversation!!
Yes Union members have a long tradition of refusing/returning tips. 😉

If you do that then the non frontline staff ( cleaners, chefs/kitchen staff etc ) have to survive on the poor basic pay.
Not to mention the farmers, delivery drivers, dock workers, check in staff, port security officers…….🤷🏼♂️

NCL asked me every meal if I had any allergies. Cunard not once!

Really great pricing for Singapore-Cape Town for those who can make it - it's essentially a 21-night voyage for the price of a 7-night winter crossing!
P1: $5819 per person, with $800 OBC
Q5: $7899 per person, with $1250 OBC
I would have been really tempted if I didn't already have other travel plans during this period.
Cape Town to Southampton a bargain too!
