  1. I agree with many of these posts that they aren’t having a good time if people are spending time on their computers writing on this blog .., perhaps it’s all those sea days… I will say that I was offered the fcc that was rescinded a day later snd all my letters that I wrote to everyone that could possibly help never gave me an option to get a refund … I did cancel and fell under 100% penalty. I am hoping still my insurance will cover me…very disappointed in Oceania. We have 28 cruises behind us on various lines. ..this was to be first Oceania. Not sure I will give them another chance.
  2. Thank you for this update we cancelled our cruise since our insurance says they cover terrorist event which this attack in Israel should qualify. That’s still pending. Our airfare we are dealing with separately it will be interesting to hear other passengers stories. our friends who were to travel with us charged their trip in Amex platinum. They got full credit on their account Seems like everyone doing whatever it takes.
  3. I would love to know if that piracy still is a fact
  4. It’s ridiculous that anyone should spend $20000-30000 snd more on a vacation snd have to deal with piracy drill. At the minimum Oceania should have let people get full cruise credit snd been a hero of goodwill. I have heard of some who got full credits on their credit cards, others on claims through insurance that covers terrorism , but everyone has left this experience thinking they will cruise a different line next time
  5. HSommer@nclcorp.com Also write to OCIResutionsDesk@oceaniacruises.com please also note for future there are some travel insurance companies that will cover terrorist event. ( not acts of war). Buying from cruise lines direct for insurance is not always in passengers best interest
  6. For many of us the bigger issue is that we were offered a full cruise credit with listed terms, and in 24 hours when you call back to take advantage, they basically say sorry we changed our minds, even though there was 5 weeks until offer had to be exercised. Its just not a good look for an industry that bases itself on high customer service.
  7. I am sure you will hear a lot of talk about this on the cruise by the way. We have done the around South America. Cruise on Holland America. It was wonderful. !! Enjoy it all !!
  8. The exact same thing happened with me, and I have gotten the same responses, or none at all. I also wrote to those same companies with no positive response. To make matters worse the letter I got back from Oceania reminded me I was in full penalty ! So rude. No level of customer service! Yesterday more missiles shot from Yemen ! Good luck to ships in the region. I won’t ever book Oceania. Plenty of other ships out there when I am ready !
  9. I was so excited to finally take an Oceania cruise. Have sailed many others but never Oceania. This experience shows they are money driven, no customer care , snd I will hesitate snd consider another option before I book again “ screw me once shame on you. Screw me twice shame on me “ I may not want to risk it
  10. So….we all agree we are in same “boat” literally and figuratively! What are most people doing in the end …?
  11. There is also any article in “frequent floaters “
  12. We have 28 cruises behind us. This was to be our first Oceania. Had great expectations, but not sure I’ll consider it in future.
  13. Wait and see what happens ..options could still change
  14. Yes this is true. I contacted them and they said it was out of their jurisdiction
  15. I am 100% on the same page. I have even spoken to an attorney.
  16. All the shore excursions that are cancelled should be credited back in full. Mine were done automatically
