Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. How do you know when you are 10 miles off shore? If you turn data on too early you get hit with the $10 day pass. This is the issue I have with the whole plan.
  2. How did you know when you are 10 miles off shore? This is my problem. If you turn on data too soon then you get hit with the $10 day pass.
  3. We are going to be on Azamara in the Mediterranean. That is sort of why I am posting this. Been with AT&T forever but it just seems they are making this very difficult/expensive. We traveled with people that had T-mobile on our last one and they didn't seem to have a worry, haha.
  4. Thanks Charles, were you able to do this on the basic wifi or do you upgrade? I was told that I could only text and surf the web with basic.
  5. What is everyone doing for cell coverage while cruising? On our last cruise I just felt like I was getting hit with fees from all angles. As an AT&T customer you can get the International Day pass for $10/day/line but that only covers you while you are on land or within a few miles of it. Then you have to buy the onboard Wi-fi access from the cruise itself to help while you are at sea but this usually doesn't cover all access. Then on the last cruise I did not turn off data when we left port and I got hit again by AT&T to get a cruise data plan. Once I figured this out I turned off data when leaving port but I am one of the unfortunate ones that has to work while on vacation so it makes it hard to do that. Are people really buying all 3 of these plans? On the next cruise we are going on a smaller ship and I don't even thing we will get a few miles off shore but you never know so I am struggling with what to do without it costing a fortune. I would be paying for 4 lines so we can communicate with family. Thoughts? Is it just AT&T that is doing this?
