I saw this referenced on a You Tube channel (made by a Spanish national who posts helpful stuff for travellers to Spain and Portugal), who noted that the proof of funds is something that can be asked but generally isn't. We're in a similar situation to this, however if you're on a cruise that is calling in at other Spanish ports of call, technically you may be required to demonstrate that you have funds for all your time in Spain, not just Barcelona.

I'm glad to see that it isn't just me! I've just checked the website (31 May in Sydney) and it's still $A 61.10 per day for the non-alcoholic deal for our November 2024 cruise; and that's with the 25% discount. Because of the currency difference it makes sense for us to pre-book; but not at those prices.
